Kade
Things have been hectic the last week since we arrived, making sure everything is ready and legal from our meeting in London. I have barely seen Blythe. We have been working on separate things so we can get everything done quicker. We run into one another in the break room for coffee. I needed my fix, but I don't want to seem needy.
I will be finishing up soon. I am heading out to meet some friends for drinks since tomorrow is Sunday and I have no work. I need to let loose. Maybe get laid, or I could call Blythe later and see if she is free and horny.
A knock at my office door makes me glance up. A part of me hopes that it is Blythe. I am soon disappointed when I realise it is Beth. Not the sister I wanted to see. She has kept her distance. I hoped she would have gotten the hint, but obviously not unless she is here for a completely innocent reason.
"Come in," I call out hesitantly.
Smiling, she comes sauntering in, dressed in a tight, short, red dress. I hope she is going out, and that isn't for my benefit because it isn't going to work.
"Hello, Kade, am I disturbing you?" she asks, her tone low and seductive.
Great! It is for my benefit. I need to tread lightly.
"I am just finishing up. What can I do for you?"
She takes a seat on the chair across from me. "I need to ask you something. Is something going on between you and Blythe?"
It is time to lie my ass off because I can't tell the truth.
"No, we are colleagues and friends, nothing more. Why would you ask that?"
"I am not sure if I believe you, but it doesn't matter. I am not here for her. Do you want to go for a drink?" She slowly runs her tongue along her lower lip. She is trying to seduce me.
"No, I have plans. Beth, I thought we had talked about this?"
I am trying hard not to be mean or rude, but every time she comes at me, it gets harder. Beth stands from the chair and saunters around to my side of the desk. I push my chair back, trying to put some distance between us.
"You said you didn't want to date me. We could have fun in other ways," she purrs, leaning forward and placing her hand on the arms of my chair, her cleavage at my eye level. I keep my eyes up.
"Beth, no. I have tried being nice. I have told you I am not interested. I need you to respect that and stop." I say through gritted teeth.
No means no, it is that simple. With a loud groan of frustration, she stands up. "God, what is wrong with you! Do you know how many men would love to have me throwing myself at them?" She hisses.
"Then go and throw yourself at one of them. I am not interested. I have tried being nice, but that hasn't worked! Please leave me alone."
"You will regret this, Kade!" she warns and storms off, slamming my office door.
What does that even mean? I will regret it? What is she going to do? I need to tell Blythe or maybe talk to her father. I don't want her getting to her father first and making up lies about me because she didn't get what she wanted.
"Fuck!" I hiss, tugging at my hair in frustration.
Now I really do need a drink. I finish up what I am doing and head home. I make sure there is no sign of Beth as I get into my car. It wouldn't be the first time she has followed me. Blythe is going to be so pissed off when I tell her what happened, but her father would take it better coming from her than me. My night is ruined now. I won't be able to have fun because I will be wondering what Beth is up to. I plan to call Blythe when I get home.
I lose myself in my thoughts on the drive, making sure I am not being followed. I arrive at mine without issues and head inside. Pouring a scotch, I take a sip and toss myself on the sofa. I dread this call, but it needs to be done. Sighing, I hit call on Blythe's name.
It rings a couple of times. "Hey, handsome."
"Hey, sweetness. Are you busy? Can we talk for a minute?"
"No, I am not busy. What is going on?"
I draw in a breath before answering. "Beth paid me a visit. She tried to seduce me. When I told her I wasn't interested again, she said she would make me regret it. I don't know what she means, but it can't be good. I need to talk to your father. I don't want Beth making up lies about me because I rejected her."
Blythe curses on the other end. "I am sorry, Kade. She shouldn't be doing this. She needs to leave you alone. I will talk to my father. I will meet him first thing tomorrow morning to tell him."
"Thank you. It would be better coming from you. I am sorry you are involved with this."
"Don't worry about it. It isn't the first time."
"She asked if something was going on between us. I told her no, but I don't know if she believed me."
"I will deal with it. Deal with her. What are you doing? Do you want to come over?"
"I am heading out with friends soon. I just wanted to let you know what happened. I can come over later if you want?"
"I appreciate you letting me. Try not to worry about what she will say. If she tries, once my father talks to me, he will know she is lying. Yeah, if you want, as long as it isn't too late. I am not staying up all night waiting for you."
"I will try my best not to. Will midnight work? Or is that too late?"
"It will be fine. I promise, Kade. No, midnight works."
"Okay. I need to get ready to go out. I will see you later."
"See you later," she replies, then hangs up.
I finish the rest of my drink before making a move to shower. Hopefully, Beth and her father can fix this situation without causing any trouble. I don't know what else to do. I have tried speaking to her, and so has Blythe, her father is the next option.
