Blythe
Today has been great. Now, we are sitting at the harbour. The lights from the area beam onto the water, and the stars shine brightly in the night sky. We are sharing a poke of chips with loads of salt and vinegar. They are delicious. We had dinner earlier, but we decided back in our room that we wanted some, and once we got that notion, we couldn't talk ourselves out of it.
It is beautiful here and quiet. It is the perfect night. Our phones are on flight mode. They have been on it most of the day. We took them off to check now and then, just in case. The only reason we took them with us was for the sake of photos, no other reason. We didn't want to be bothered by work or anything else.
My head is resting on Kade's shoulder, and he has his arm wrapped around me. It is all very romantic. I close my eyes, enjoying the closeness between us and the cool air that surrounds us. It is so different here from back in the busy city.
Kade kisses the top of my head. "It is beautiful here. I forgot how beautiful since it has been so long since I have been here."
I glance up at him and smile. "It really is."
Kade dips his head down and covers my lips with his, kissing me softly. I smile and kiss back, placing my hand on his cheek. The kiss lasts only a moment before we part.
He strokes the hair from my eyes. "We should take some photos."
I laugh at his request. "We have taken loads today. We will have no storage left soon enough."
He chuckles and shakes his head. "I mean of us. We only took one of us together today."
We took one on our walk. We were too busy enjoying our surroundings and taking photos. We have walked miles today. It has been worth it, though. I am sure we will sleep well tonight.
"Yes, let's do that."
We finish our chips and toss the rubbish in the bin. We take a bunch of photos. Cute ones, silly ones and some with the view of the harbour behind us. It is ashame we need to hide them in a private folder in case the wrong person sees them. I hate being so secretive, but at the same time, it is exciting because we are sneaking around, but I would much rather we didn't have to hide. Maybe one day we won't need to hide it.
"Do you want to go and pick up some snacks and drinks before we return to our room? We can watch a movie. Maybe get a nice bottle of wine. A night of relaxing because we have another busy, fun-filled day tomorrow." Kade suggests.
I nod. "It sounds perfect, handsome."
I am excited for tomorrow, for our boat trip, well, as long as the weather is okay. I love the water. We will be out for a good few hours on the water. Kade takes my hand in his, linking our fingers. We stroll towards the supermarket to get what we want. It is only ten minutes away on foot. Our accommodation is close too, so the trek back won't be long.
I feel at peace here, just Kade and me. We have no one or anything we need to deal with. We can be present without stressing about things. I would like to move somewhere like this one day. It won't be anytime soon, but maybe one day. Scotland has so many beautiful places like this. I wouldn't be lacking in options. I love the city, I do, but somewhere a little quieter would be nice.

We arrived back at our room not too long ago. I am unpacking our things since we didn't do it earlier. Everything will end up creased if we leave them in our bags. Kade is taking a shower, leaving me to it. I had put my things away, now I just need to put his away.
I take everything out, setting them on the bed, but something catches my eye. There is an envelope stuffed in his bag with only his name on it. What the heck? I shake my head, not thinking much of it; it isn't my business. When I toss it on the bed, the contents fall out and only then do I notice the photos. They are of us at two separate times. Why does he have these? None of us took them. Whoever took these took them from a distance.
I pick up the paper that fell out, too and read it. I soon realise what it is, someone is trying to blackmail him or scare him into breaking up with me. I swear, if this is Beth, I will slap her. I understand she has some issues, but it doesn't mean she can do what the hell she wants. Who else could it be? Then again, there could be someone else out. Why would he keep this from me? My annoyance at it soon turns to anger, anger towards Kade. He had no right to keep this from me. I assume, by the way it was stuffed in his bag, he received it on his way out to pick me up.
I sit on the bed, my foot tapping against the floor and my fingers on my knee, impatient as I wait for him to return from his shower. I hear him come through a few minutes later. He walks in and is about to say something until I show him what I have in my hand.
"I can explain that." He says, stopping in his tracks.
"What the hell is this, Kade? Why would you keep this from me? When did you receive this?" I snap.
He sighs and comes over to stand before me. "It was at my front door when I left. You can't be mad at me, Blythe. I haven't shown it to you yet because I didn't want to ruin our weekend. I was going to show you once we returned."
"You should have shown me straightaway. We are keeping enough secrets from the rest of the world; we shouldn't be keeping secrets from one another." I reply, shaking my head.
Maybe I am overreacting, but we aren't supposed to keep secrets. We are supposed to be open and honest. I wouldn't have let it ruin our weekend.
"I am sorry, but it isn't important, Blythe."
"I hate that you kept it from me, Kade. It is important because we have no clue who it is."
"I don't care who it is. What are they going to do?"
"We don't even know who it is. If it is my sister, then she will tell everyone. It will make her worse if she knows. If it isn't her, then we have no clue who else, and we don't know what they can do with it. It is important."
I shake my head, stand and grab my PJs, heading for a shower. I need time to calm down and for my annoyance to vanish. I don't want to make a big thing of it, but he is the one person who is supposed to be upfront with me at all times. I won't let it ruin my weekend. He just needs to give me time to go through the motions.
