Chapter Thirty Nine:
Thankful For You

~POV: Jaiden~

I set the last plate down on the table at Aaron's parents. We were with Aaron's parents for Thanksgiving then already going to Christmas with my mom. Aaron had gone to pick up my mom. I was helping his mom set the table and everything.

"Jaiden! When is Aaron supposed to come back?" Kellie asked from the kitchen.

"I don't know. He left forty-five minutes ago. Should be home any-" I was cut off as I turned around by a pair of lips on mine. I jumped a little, quite startled.

"Hi, baby." The voice said. I knew it was Aaron by that. I pushed his chest and he chuckled. "Sorry, my love." He smiled. He kissed me again deeply. "You're mom's in the living room." He said. I nodded and walked out. Mom stood in the living room being awkward.

"Hey Mom! How was your flight?" I asked hugging her.

"Good! How are you?" She asked hugging back.

"Great! Come on." I said, pulling her into the kitchen. Kellie looked over and grinned.

"Hi! I'm Kellie! You must be the legendary Mama Rutabaga." Kellie assumed.

"Yes I am! But you can call me Tracey." My mom grinned, too. Aaron walked behind and wrapped his arms around my waist before picking me up, causing me to squeal. He laughed because our mom's attention flew to us. They laughed with Aaron while I poured. Randy walked in and saw what was happening.

"Son." He sighed. "You need to learn not to make your wife upset. It never ends well for you." Randy said. Aaron smirked and out his arm around me.

"Then I'll make sure to tease her as much as possible while she's still just my fiancé." Aaron said smugly. I gently hit his chest. "Sorry not sorry, babe." He gently kissed me. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Our parents got introduced and we all started talking.

"So, how is wedding planning coming?" Kellie asked.

"It's not." Aaron said.

"Tour planning comes first." I said.

"Why don't you guys go on tour together?" Randy suggested.

"Maybe we could do a European tour with the two bands and see about maybe another band coming." Aaron thought out. I nodded.

"Sounds fun." Kellie said. "So, girls, are we going Black Friday shopping tomorrow?"

"Yep!" I answered.

"I guess." My mom answered.

"Come on. Let's go eat. Jaiden and I already set everything out."
We all went in and sat down. Aaron and Randy sat on the ends, I was on Aaron's right, an empty seat to his left. My mom say to my right and she was on Randy's right and Kellie on his left. We all ate and talked.

"So, Randy." Kellie started. "What are you thankful for?" She put her hand over her husband's and smiled at him.

"My beautiful wife. My boys- even if we're missing one. And the two new people joining us this year." He smiled.

"Tracey?" Kellie looked to my mom.

"I'm thankful for my daughter. My future son-in-law, and for his wonderful family. And also for the kids in my class." She said.

"You never said that your mom was a teacher!" Kellie said to me.

"Yeah. Fifth grade." Mom confirmed. I smiled cheekily at her. She shook her head.
