Chapter Seventy Six:
I Fell Asleep Last Winter

Christmas Morning.

~POV: Jaiden~

It was like almost every other morning. I woke up to Aaron's fingers running down my side. I opened my eyes to see my husband's beautiful brown eyes staring back at me. We didn't say a word. We just laid there staring at each other. Aaron's hand stopped wondering and found mine, lacing our fingers.

"It's funny. Today is Christmas, but I've already got what I wanted this year. All I want is to wake up next to you for the rest of my life and love you every day." He said. I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his.

"You're talking too much." I mumbled against his lips. He smiled and kissed me back, putting his arm around my waist and pulling me against him. I put a hand on his chest.

We pulled away and stared at each other again. We laid there staring until Mom caught our attention with a snap of her phone camera going off. I looked up to see her putting her phone away. I sighed.

"Merry Christmas, Mama."
I said. Aaron groaned and put his head against my chest. I chuckled and kissed the top of his head.

"Merry Christmas, kids. Let's go open gifts." She said. Aaron pulled me closer, if possible. "Jaiden, get him up." Mama commanded before leaving the room. I wrapped my arms him and closed my eyes.

"Let's get up, my darling." I said softly. He groaned and kissed my neck. I pulled away from him, not wanting to, and got up.

He watched me as I grabbed one of his sweatshirts and put it on, grabbing a t-shirt of his and tossing it to him. He slipped it on and got up, handing me my glasses. I put them on my face and we walked out to the living room. Aaron sat down on the floor only for me to fall into his lap. He laughed and pushed a piece of my hair out of my face.

"Aaron, you're being awfully quiet today."
Mom said, walking out with her coffee.

"Sorry." He said quietly. I laced our fingers. His free hand traced patterns into my stomach.

"Ready to start opening presents?" Mom asked. We nodded and I sat up beside Aaron. We opened our presents.

After we were finished, I laid on Aaron, knocking him over to the floor. He put his arms around me and closed his eyes. Mom walked into the living room to that sight.

"Why are you two so tired?" She asked.

"Because Aaron and I were up late talking last night." I said, cuddling more into Aaron.

"About?" She asked, tapping her iPad for Christmas music.

"Everything." I said.

"Mostly about plans for the new year and what we want to do. We were thinking about getting both bands together and going on a vacation." Aaron said. I leaned up and kissed his chin. He smiled and pulled me closer.

"Oh that's nice." Mom said, putting it on the table. She returned to the kitchen. I tangled my legs with Aaron's. He sighed in contentment. I smiled.

"I love you." He said softly.

"I love you, too, Aaron." I said back. I heard mom take a picture again and I groaned. I got up, pulling away from Aaron. Mom had my phone. I took it back.

"Set the table please." Mom said. I nodded and hit post on the photo with the caption, "Merry Christmas. Leave us alone to sleep." I set the table for breakfast before finally getting Aaron off the floor.
