A few weeks later, the first festival since Muzan's fall filled the air with laughter and music. Lanterns swayed from every rooftop, painting the night in soft gold. Down by the river, hundreds of glowing orbs floated gently across the water — each carrying a prayer, a name, a memory.

Tsukiyo stood on the old bridge, her reflection rippling beneath the lantern light. The glow shimmered against her eyes — those same eyes that once saw only blood and loss — now reflecting the fragile beauty of peace.

The wind brushed past her, playful and familiar. She didn't need to turn to know who it was.

Sanemi stopped beside her, hands buried in his pockets, his haori fluttering in the evening breeze. "Never thought I'd see the day people laughed without fear again," he muttered, his voice carrying that rough warmth only she could ever hear beneath the gruffness.

She smiled softly. "Feels strange, doesn't it?"

"Yeah," he said, glancing sideways at her. "Good strange."

For a while, they simply stood there — watching the lanterns drift down the current, like tiny souls finding their way home. Somewhere in the distance, children laughed, the sound bright and pure, echoing over the river that had once carried so many tears.

Then, Sanemi shifted. His usual restlessness faltered, and for once, the silence between them wasn't born of restraint — but of something trembling, unspoken.

He took a slow breath. "Tsukiyo... there's something I should've said a long damn time ago."

She blinked, turning toward him. His eyes, fierce and uncertain, caught the lantern glow — a storm softening to dawn.

"I spent half my life thinking all I was good for was fighting and losing people," he said quietly. "Then you came along — and somehow, you made the world stop hurting."

He reached into his pocket and drew out a small charm — a delicate silver ring, interwoven like threads of light, with a single crystal embedded in its heart. It gleamed faintly, as though alive, resonating with her own breath.

"I had this made... after the war," he murmured. "Figured when you woke up, I'd ask you properly."

Her breath caught, trembling. "Sanemi—"

He took her hand, rough fingers brushing her knuckles, eyes burning with sincerity that cut deeper than any blade.

"I don't know what the future looks like," he said, voice breaking. "Hell, I don't even know if I deserve it. But if you'll have me... I want that future with you. I want to spend whatever's left of my life making you smile instead of cry."

Tears slipped down her cheeks, falling like tiny crystals into the riverlight. She took his hands, the warmth of his touch lingering like the memory of flame. "You already do," she whispered. "You always did."

Sanemi's breath hitched — then he slid the charm around her finger. It wasn't perfect, but the faint gleam of crystal caught the lanterns above, casting tiny prisms of light across his scarred face.

She leaned closer until their foreheads touched — crystal against wind, steady heartbeat against another. His smile — raw, rare, unguarded — melted every shadow that had ever haunted him.

"Thank you, Tsukiyo," he murmured.

The world had begun anew. And for the first time, they weren't running toward death.

They were walking together, hand in hand, towards life.

As the cherry petals drifted across the starlit sky, Tsukiyo whispered, "We finally made it, Sanemi." He tightened his hold, eyes soft. "Damn right we did."

The Crystal and the Wind found peace. Not in battle, but in each other.

Their story did not end here. It simply became something gentler. A love and promise carried forever on the Crystal's quiet whisper and the Wind's eternal embrace.
