Chapter 113 -The Golden Bunny
In the hush of unconsciousness, Miexha returned to the place where dreams bled truth.
The wind moved gently through the tall grass, carrying the faint scent of something dying.
Above her, the sky bled gold—like sunlight trying to survive a wound.
And there—
They were still playing.
Three small figures darted through the field.
Two black bunnies.
One brown.
Tumbling. Chasing. Colliding into each other in silent laughter.
Her heart tightened.
She knew them now.
The taller black one—graceful even in play.
Shellie.
The other—reckless, loud, all motion and chaos.
Xiejay.
And the smallest—
The brown one, quiet, watchful, trailing just a step behind.
Ariel.
They moved like pieces of her heart scattered across the field.
But then her gaze slipped past them… to the far corner of the field.
Under the shadow of a lonely tree lay the white bunny.
Still.
Soaked in dried blood.
Eyes closed. Limbs curled.
Dead.
Her breath broke into shards.
Miexha fell to her knees, the sob tearing from her throat before she could even form her name.
“Jamie…”
Her firstborn.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, voice cracking like a broken shell.
“I’m so, so sorry…”
Even the playing bunnies slowed. As if mourning with her.
And then, Like something had opened behind her.
Miexha turned.
And saw the golden bunny.
Taller. Stronger. Gleaming with unnatural light, its fur a molten gold that rippled like fire.
And the eyes burning with something far heavier than innocence.
“Mother…”
Its voice echoed—not in the air, but inside her chest.
“You didn’t keep your promise.”
Miexha flinched. Her lips parted. “You… You’re—”
“You chose them.”
The ground beneath her cracked.
Thin fractures spreading like broken glass.
Above them, the sky split open—golden lightning tearing through the bleeding clouds.
“My half-siblings,” the golden bunny said.
The words tasted like poison.
“They were held. Loved. Given warmth.”
Its voice wavered from rage.
“I was alone.”
The light beneath its feet spread.
“I floated in glass,” it continued, voice tightening.
“Wires in my skin. Silence in my mouth.”
A step forward.
“Do you know what it feels like… to talk to nothing?”
Another.
“To beg shadows to answer you… just so you don’t disappear?”
The field began to rot.
Grass turned gray.
“So tell me, Mother—”
Its eyes locked onto hers.
“If I destroy them…”
A tremor shook the world.
“Will you blame me?”
The bunnies froze mid-hop. Their eyes widened. The grass curled into ash.
