Chapter 25
'175...177...179,' I muttered, hating how my skin prickled with every closed door I passed. Almost every room on the men's floor had someone inside it and each snore caused my skin to prickle uncomfortably. I was terrified that one of them would wake up and catch me on their floor.
Quickly, I knocked against the door, shifting from foot to foot anxiously fearing I might need to knock again. Just as I raised my fist the door cracked open revealing a sleepy looking Joey, his brown curls messed and his eyes heavy with sleep.
'Luna?' He croaked before he threw the door the whole way open and pulled me inside. 'What are you doing here? What did I tell you about the men's floor?'
'I needed to know if you were all right. No-one's done anything to you have they?' I asked, looking over him anxiously.
'Don't worry about me,' he dismissed, shutting the door quickly before he started to look me over, gently pulling my cardigan aside and revealing some of my healing bruises. 'Did he do this?'
'No, they're old,' I shrugged, glad he couldn't see the bruises on my thighs.
'Old?' He frowned, leading me over to his unmade bed and sitting me down and I quickly tucked my legs up beneath me. I cringed when Joey's eyes went wide and I realised my skirt had risen enough for him to see my newer bruises.
'What did he do?' He ground out, reaching for me and ignoring my protests, pushing my hands aside so he could see.
'It's nothing,' I muttered my face becoming heated as he pushed my skirt up slightly. I looked down to see the handprints Breadon had left there from yesterday and I felt the shame wash over me again. I heard Joey mutter a string of curses under his breath before he readjusted my skirt so the bruises were hidden again.
'He-he didn't...?'
'No,' I answered quickly, already knowing where his mind was going.
'This can't continue,' he muttered angrily, sitting down beside me.
'It'll be fine,' I muttered, repeating a familiar lie as he shot me a disbelieving look.
'We need to get you out of here,' he sighed at the impossible task.
'I let him mark me, I'm tied to him and it'll hurt me as much as him to leave,' I answered dejectedly. 'The pack will fall apart.'
'The pack shouldn't even be a concern for you,' he spat. 'Not with the way they have been treating you.' I fell silent beside him, but I couldn't help but sneak a glance at him, curious about what had transpired the day before.
'How do you feel?'
'What do you mean?' He frowned.
'You know, after I...' I trailed off not sure how to explain myself.
'So I didn't imagine it?' He sighed in defeat.
'No.'
'What was that?'
'I don't really know, I can't really control it.'
'Control what?'
'My soul, I think,' I chuckled humourlessly.
'Your soul?' He asked in disbelief and I shrugged uselessly.
'Neat party trick right?'
'You can what, push your soul out of your body and control it?' He asked his voice alarmed and I just shrugged again. 'Sorry, I'm just trying to grasp what's happening here.'

Werewolf'So,' I started, unsure of how to approach this new Colby. 'Are you letting me go?' 'No,' he growled and I watched as his eyes darkened, but they didn't turn charcoal and I could tell he was more in control than he ever had been before. 'You can nev...
