Chapter 33
Where had he gone? I thought desperately. He had been here before I had taken a shower but now his scent was stale. He said he would be here when I was done. My nerves felt frayed and I couldn't stop my hands from trembling. I glanced at the darkness in the wardrobe and all I saw were red eyes. Every sound was him coming for me and every breath was painful. Where had he gone?
Anxiously, I padded across the floor of our room, my socks silent against the floorboards. I kept my breathing level and quiet as my ears strained to hear his voice. He wouldn't have left me alone in the house, he never had before.
So, I went to the only place I thought he might be, his office.
I heard him before I arrived, his voice angry and overbearing. I could sense four other men in the room with him, a frown forming as I tried to make out his words.
'-let them through? How is it possible that these three wolves could get through my own border patrols? Were you sleeping?' He growled and it seemed none of the wolves were willing to answer his anger, probably too afraid of their alpha's rage.
'Do you not have anything to say?' He demanded and I heard his chair scrape across the floor as a loud thud sounded through the house. Had he hurt someone? 'Your Luna and my mate was in danger tonight and you have nothing to say? That intruder could have killed her and you stand before me silent?'
'Alpha-' one of the wolves began bravely but Breadon was quick to cut him off.
'You know what, it doesn't matter,' Breadon dismissed. 'Nothing you say can make up for your mistakes. You're all on prison guard duty until I think you can handle the responsibility of border patrol.' Then their quick footsteps started to move to the door of the room whilst I remained frozen outside.
The door opened to reveal four chastised wolves, their eyes downcast and their shoulders slumped. At the front was one of my familiar tormentors from the pack house but when his eyes looked up to meet mine there was only regret. He bowed respectfully as he passed muttering a quiet, 'Luna,' before the two behind him did the same.
The final man was very familiar to me and I looked at him sadly as he approached.
'I am sorry Luna for being the cause of more of your pain,' Simon spoke, his head bowed deeply so I couldn't see his eyes at all.
'Simon, it is not your fault,' I tried to console, reaching out to rest my hand against his forearm. 'I am certain you did all you could to not only ensure my safety but the entire packs.'
'I am sorry, Luna.' He repeated, his brow wrinkling with concentration.
'You are forgiven Simon, Breadon is just angry he doesn't mean to be so harsh in his punishments. You are a good man and a good soldier.'
'My alpha is right to punish me, I will serve out my penance with honour.' He answered proudly.
'Don't be too hard on yourself Simon, I don't blame you and deep down I know Breadon doesn't either.'
'Thank you, my Luna,' Simon nodded before he stepped away from my hold and moved swiftly down the hallway. Letting out a tired sigh, I started towards Breadon's office only hesitating for a moment before I slipped inside.
'You left,' I said softly, darting across the room to his side before he even had a chance to look up.
'I thought maybe you would want to rest,' Breadon frowned, looking down at a schedule I assumed related to border control.
'You said you would wait,' I answered, my hands clenched nervously in front of me.
'I'm sorry baby,' he sighed before he finally looked up at me. 'Come here,' he murmured, his hands wrapping tightly around my waist before he lifted me onto his lap where I quickly nuzzled deeper into his chest revelling in his warmth.

Werewolf'So,' I started, unsure of how to approach this new Colby. 'Are you letting me go?' 'No,' he growled and I watched as his eyes darkened, but they didn't turn charcoal and I could tell he was more in control than he ever had been before. 'You can nev...
