Leora
It had been several days since Colby had visited the pack and every day the border patrol had the same news to report. The Red Alpha stood sentry where the packs bordered one another. His wolf sat all day long and all through the night watching and waiting for me to arrive. But I couldn't. I wouldn't go back to him. I never wanted to be in the position I was the last time. I didn't believe his words and I never would. He had hurt me beyond my imaginings and I would be a fool to ever allow myself to be in that position again.
Since Colby's visit, Breadon had been more on edge. He spent hours in his study going over the maps I had described about the whereabouts of my father and his army, as well as organising and reorganising the rotations for border patrol. Then, when he wasn't doing that he was training his warriors for an imminent attack.
I wasn't sure what the warriors were training for because they wouldn't attack children and Colby wasn't attacking. As far as he had told me, I would always be safe with him from now on, which meant he would not step foot on New Knight lands.
"Aunt Leora, I'm bored." Kora whined from beside me. We had both been relegated to the sidelines of the training field. Hours before, Breadon laid a blanket out and planted me on it, only for Koron to arrive moments later with his daughter, placing her right beside me. Then the two men had left to start training the men. While Kora was feeling bored, I was completely frustrated. I didn't want to sit on the sidelines while the warriors trained when I knew my skills were going to be the only ones that mattered.
"Well," I began, turning to face an expectant Kora, "Let's see what we can do about that." Kora quickly caught on that whatever I was about to do was on the right side of mischievous and sent me a cute little smirk before turning her attention back to the training fields.
I started with an easy target. It was one of the younger warriors. He had been running laps for the past several minutes after he tripped and knocked over the refreshments, sending a river of water gushing through the centre of the training area.
He was just coming around the bend on his fifth lap of the grounds when his feet ground to a halt. Judging from the giggle beside me, Kora wasn't so bored anymore.
Focusing on the wild energy inside the young wolf, I flowed with it rather than wasting energy fighting to calm him. His limbs flailed wildly and then his legs were moving again. Moving straight for the main training field where Koron and Breadon were demonstrating several different manoeuvres for their youngest warriors.
Now, taking full control of my charge, I lined him up beside one of the female warriors who was listening with rapt attention. She didn't seem to notice him, but Koron did and instantly started shouting for him to do 25 more laps for disobeying his first order. However, instead of jumping to do Koron's bidding, the young wolf began to dance, despite there being no music to match his rhythm. He swung his hips and bopped his head while waving his arms wildly.
Kora laughed loudly as Koron's entire face went red, but before he could rage at the disobedient wolf, the entire first row joined in with the routine. Now, controlling almost ten adult wolves, I instantly felt my energy start to wane. The wolves were starting to resist now and I knew I had moments to make my point before they wrested control back from me.
Focusing on my charges, I forced them to still. I could already feel Breadon's eyes on me but I knew Koron hadn't figured out the source of the disturbance yet. Without breaking my concentration, I shifted my entire row of wolves so they were facing the row behind them. Then each one of them lifted their right hand as their claws began to elongate. The second row of wolves stumbled for what to do. Some shifted into their fighting stance, while others backed away until they crashed into the person behind them. There were murmurs all around the training ground, as other wolves stopped what they were doing to watch.

Lobisomem'So,' I started, unsure of how to approach this new Colby. 'Are you letting me go?' 'No,' he growled and I watched as his eyes darkened, but they didn't turn charcoal and I could tell he was more in control than he ever had been before. 'You can nev...
