85. This was the Readers Choice

Rimuru's POV

Waking up to the morning sun had felt wonderful. I felt like I had slept good. So good in fact that I almost forgot that I don't need to sleep.

Wait a second.

Have I been asleep?

If I have then for how long?

Usually it had been for around three days. But that was when my magicule count had been normal, now it was at a point it can be considered infinite.

Rimuru- "Ciel, are you there?"

Ciel- "Always dear."

Good it seems that it wasn't that long then. Otherwise she would have told me about it. Unless she is doing something else on the side, then she might not right away unless I ask.

Rimuru- "How long was I."

Shuna- "Rimuruuuuuuu!" She said as she jumped from the door she opened to my chest.

You can understand how surprised I was when I noticed that she had gotten stronger and had way more energy.

Shuna has always been the reserved when in the room. Seeing her like this made me worried about my second hunch.

Shuna- "My love we thought you would not wake up for another few days. Thank goodness we were wrong."

Ciel- "Yes, you have recovered faster than we thought. This is good news at it means we can have more nights like that than I calculated."

Rimuru- "Not now Ciel."

Ciel- 🥺.

At times like these I must be direct if I want answers at all with these people.

Rimuru- "How long has it been since I feel asleep?"

It was then that Testarossa and Elmishia walked in. They seemed like they wanted to jump at me but Elmishia seemed very relieved that I was awake especially.

Rimuru- "Something wrong Elmishia?"

Elmishia- "Nothing. It's just that mother was very worried you'd not wake up ever again. The thought made me nervous."

Rimuru- "Worry not my lovely girl. I always come back stronger than before. No matter how bad it looks to everyone."

Ciel- "I noticed since that special night especially."

I just gave Ciel a slight look with the meaning of quiet you, as I looked back at Testarossa.

Rimuru- "How long Testarossa?"

Testarossa- "My lord, it has been some time. Should I first tell you all that's happened first?"

They keep avoid the question and it's concerning me. I guess I'll need to emphasize it then.

Rimuru- "How long." I say more slowly and forcefully.

Ciel- "My dear. It's been, some time."

Rimuru- "Tell me how long it's been Ciel."

My patience is starting to thin here.

Ciel- "Very well. I'll tell you. It's been.....

Staying in the sky near the building to protect it from unwanted guests. That was the order given to me by Lady Ciel tonight. She said it would be under attack from people who wished to join but had not been permitted to.
