Chapter 28 visit with mommy and getting called into the boss's office

Ricky's POV

I have made arrangements with my school so that I am excused from my last Class everyday. Having this ability will give me the opportunity to pick John up from the nursery and take him to Amy's house so that she and her family can spend quality time together with John while I'm at work. Right now I am on my way to pick up John from the nursery and bring him over to see Amy and her family. I safely park my car and then walk to the entrance of the nursery. When I get there I see some little kids running around who are much older than John. A few minutes later one of the nursery ladies exited through the door with John and her arms and his diaper bag on one shoulder. John looked tired but eager to see me. Hi there little man I said as I lifted him into my embrace. How was he? I asked the nursery lady while taking the diaper bag from her. He was good she said. As usual he was a little fussy in the morning and before naptime but he settled down and eventually fell asleep she told me. That's good to hear I told her. John cling to me and rested his head on my shoulder. He was starting to get fussy at the end of the conversation. Alright then we will see you tomorrow I said. Come on John you are going to go and visit mommy and her family while daddy is at work I explained to him as I buckled him into his car seat. When I arrived at Amy's house I rung the doorbell and started to entertain John until someone came to answer it so he wouldn't get fussy. Oh hello Ricky Ann greeted me when she opened the door. Hi John she said as she let us in to the house. Amy is in the living room she told me. Just to let you know she is having a harder time than usual she told me. Good to know I said. I made my way to the living room with John securely in my arms. Amy's mother quickly followed behind me. Hey Amy I greeted her. She said as I gently placed him in her lap. How is he been doing? Is there anything I should know? She asked me. He has had a good day for the most part I told her. He was a little bit fussy at the beginning of his day at the nursery and again during his regular naptime. That's what one of the ladies who is responsible for looking after him while I'm at school told me I explained. He still stays at the nursery? She asked. I thought that he was only allowed just stay at the nursery for free because I had a job working there she said confused. He was I'm allowed to stay there for free because you had a job I said. However I explained my situation to Jack's dad and he said because of the fact that Jack and I are friends he let me leave John at the nursery for half price I explained. Oh my gosh! I wanted to tell you that I asked Jack and grace to be Johns godparents I told her. He knows them as Uncle Jack and Aunt Grace or auntie grace I told her. Seriously? She asked me with a smile on her face. Seriously I told her. That's amazing! She told me happily. I am so glad you are happy about it I told her. Also Amy don't be surprised if he starts to freak out once I am gone I told her. I'm sure we can handle it Amy told me confidently. I know you can I said. Alright John it's time for Daddy to leave and go to work I explained to him. I love you little man I told him. You have fun with mommy and her family I told him. Don't worry daddy will be back soon I reassured him. I'll see you in a bit Amy I said. Oh by the way I forgot to give you this I said pulling out a folded piece of paper from my pocket. This is a list of all of the emergency contacts I have for him I explained to her. It starts with my cell phone number and then the number for the butcher shop. After that where's my moms cell phone number and then the number for the clinic she works for . After that I have my dad's cell phone number, his office number, and finally the hospitals phone number. I also have their full names and professional titles written down so you know who to ask for if and when you have to get in touch with them for any reason I explained to her. Ricky just relax she told me. Nothing is going to happen she said. We will be just fine right John? She asked looking at him. Tell daddy not to worry she said to John and then looked up at me. Alright then you guys have fun I said as I left the piece of paper with all of the emergency information written on it on the coffee table.
