Chapter 11 love is in the air

Ricky POV

Thank God it's almost the end of the day . As soon as my shift at the butcher shop is done I leave to go and get John from the church Nursery . On my way to pick him up I give the Nursery a call to let them know that I had already left work . When I see the lady at the reception desk she immediately recognizes me and lets me know that it will be a few minutes . Five minutes later A door opens and another lady walks through it . She has my crying son in her arms. Who's that ? She asked John as she walked toward me . Is that daddy ? She asked him. He cried louder in response to her question . hey buddy come to daddy I said to him. He laid his head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arms around him. How was he ? I asked the Nursery lady. He was alright she said. He was fussy as usual she said . He's probably really tired she told me. I just got him down half an hour before you called she said. Oh alright thank you so much for looking after him I told her as John and I left the building. Alright little man come on let's go home I said to him as I got home safely buckled up into his car seat. He fell asleep on the way home . Alright john we are here I said to him as I pulled into the parking lot of my apartment complex . I got out of the car and opened the backseat door to get John out of his car seat . As I unbuckled him he woke up crying. Daddy is very sorry . I know you were sleeping but we have to go inside now I told him as I got him out of the car seat. I will put you back down for another nap once we get inside I told him. He rested his head on my shoulder as I walked to the apartment with him cradled in my arms. Once we got through the door I realized that john needed a diaper change. So I took him into the nursery to get him changed. After I got him comfortable I wrapped him up in a blanket and rocked him until he fell asleep.

Bella pov

I just got home form school. I don't have any homework tonight. I am really Bord. I wonder how Ricky and john are doing? I decide to give him a call and see.

Ricky pov

After John fell asleep I sat down to do my homework. A while after I started working on my homework my cell phone went off. I took it out to take a look at it. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Bella. So I answered it. Hello Bella I said to her when I answered your phone . Hi Ricky she said nervously to me. What's up ? I asked her . Well I was wondering if you and John would like to Meet me at the Park ? She asked me. Sure that sounds great I said to her. When? Well how about tomorrow ? Its Saturday she said . You're right it is Saturday I said to her. What time should we be there ? I asked her. How about 1 o'clock? She asked. Alright that sounds good I said . However I must warn you I said. What do you mean ? She asked me. Well we will try to be there for 1 o'clock but I can't guarantee that we will be on time I said to her. Oh I see she said with a laugh . It's alright I understand he said. Okay I said as I heard John wake up from his nap . Listen Bella John and I will see you tomorrow I said. I have to go because he just woke up alright I said. Alright Ricky no problem I'll see you guys tomorrow bye she said. Alright bye I said and then quickly hung up my cell phone. What's wrong little man? I asked John as I left him up out of his crib. Shsh I swayed side to side for a few minutes. I noticed that he had a dirty diaper. Alright buddy let,s get you changed I said to him as I laid him down on the change table. Did you make a stinky for daddy ? I asked him as I opened up his diaper and started to get him changed. once I got him settled and back asleep I went back to my desk to work on my homework . After I finished everything that I had to get done for school I had a shower before I went to bed .

Bella pov

I got up early to get ready to meet up with Ricky and John up later that day. After I got ready I made sandwiches for a picnic lunch for Ricky and I. I just assumed that Ricky would automatically pack something for john to eat. Before I left I grabbed some of my younger brother,s old baby toys . I thought it would be nice to surprise john with them.

Ricky pov

I was up at 5 o'clock in the morning looking after John. After I fed him I packed up his diaper bag with everything then I will need to take care of him for a day out at the park including baby formula , diapers , and a change of clothes for him just in case. He cried as I wrapped my arms around him. Come on buddy let's go to the park I said to him as I placed him safely in his car seat. When we search driving I turn the radio to a children music station to entertain John while we were on the way to the park. When because to the park I took John out of his car seat and placed him in his stroller. I dropped the diaper bag in the bottom of the stroller and started walking along the path. After a while I spotted Bella sitting on a bench . She had a picnic basket on one side of her and a backpack on the other side of her . Hello Bella I said to her as I approached bench. Hey Ricky she said to me in a friendly manner. I lifted John out of his stroller . Hi John Bella said to him. Say hi to daddy,s friend Bella I told John . He shyly smiled at her. Oh he is so cute she said with a smile on her face. Thank you I told her . Ricky can I told him? She asked me. T to be honest with you Bella I don't think that's not such a good idea I told her . Why not ? She asked me a little confused. Well if I let someone else hold him he will start to freak out I said. He will think that I am going to leave him I told her . I'm sorry I totally understand she said. That's alright I told her.

Bella pov

So what's in the picnic basket? Ricky asked me as he swayed john side to side. Oh this ? Well it,s our lunch I told him. That's so sweet of you he said to me . You know you didn't have to do that told me. I know I didn't have to do it but I wanted to do it I told him. I open the basket and pulled out a blanket. I quickly spread the blanket put on the grass. So what's for lunch ? Ricky asked me as he placed John in his lap . Well i have peanut butter and banana sandwiches I said. I also have potato chips and brownies for dessert I told him. Oh and 2 bottles of cold water I said. That sounds great . Thanks so much Bella he said to me. No problem anytime I told him.

Ricky pov

Just as Bella started to get our picnic lunch set up john started to get fussy. Bella the food looks great but unfortunately I have to feed John his lunch before I can eat I told her. Its alright I totally understand take your time she told me. Thanks I said to her as I got a bottle of formula out of the diaper bag. while I was feeding John Bella and I started to talk. I told her the band camp story and what happened with Amy. I also told her about my love of music. She told me about her love of baking and her part time job working at a bookstore. After John was finished eating I put the empty bottle back into the diaper bag. While I ate my lunch we talked more about past relationships and extracurricular activities at school . Thankfully John continued to remain content as Bella was singing songs to him . What's in your backpack? I asked her after I finish my lunch. Well I have a little surprise she confessed to me. She unzipped the backpack and pulled out a teddy bear and a musical monkey . These where some as my younger brothers old toys she told me. I thought that John might be interested in playing with them she said. Oh the love that was so sweet of you to think of him I told her. What do you think John ? I asked him as we began to play which toys at Bella had brought for him. He cooed and smiled in response. After about 45 minutes of playing with Jon and talking to Bella john started to get fussy. Okay little man what's wrong ? I asked him. Daddy's right here I said to him. I stood up and started swaying him side to side while softly singing to him at the same time. What time is it Bella ? I asked her unable to look at my phone . Its 330 she told me. Why? She asked confused. Its past his nap time I told her. Oh I'm so sorry she apologized to me. Please don't worry about it it's my fault I told her. Alright well if you guys have to get going I totally understand she said to me. Thank you so much for making lunch and sharing your brother's old toys with John I told her. No problem anytime she said to me.

Bella pov

Hey Ricky I said to him a little nervous . Yeah he responded as he continued to sway John. Well I just wanted you to know then I had a really nice time with you and John today I said shyly . John and I had a great time as well he told me . Good I'm glad . That makes me feel really happy I said . I was wondering well although I really enjoyed hanging out with you and John today I paused. Yes he questioned me. Well I was wondering if maybe sometime you and I could hang out alone ? I asked him. You mean like you want to go out on a date with me ? He asked me. Yes that's exactly what I mean I told him . That sounds like an amazing idea about what he said to me. However I will have to talk to my parents and see if they would be willing to babysit John for me he said. Yes of course I understand that I said to him. Whenever you can get your mom and dad to look after John we will figure out a good time to meet up again I said to him . With that we both last the park for the day .
