Chapter 25 opening up a locked door

Ricky pov

It's time to go and pick up John from the nursery. I said to myself once my shift at work had come to an end. I got into my car and made my way to the church. When I walked inside I saw that there was no secretary at the reception desk. However I soon realised that it wasn't necessary for me to talk to the secretary anyway. No more then a minute later an exhausted looking Julie appeared with a fussy John in her arms and his diaper bag on one shoulder. Oh hello Ricky she greeted me with a tired smile. Hi Julie I said holding out my arms to embrace John. Hey there little man shsh it's okay I told him as his head collapsed onto my shoulder. How was he today? I asked Julie with a sympathetic grin, knowing that I would probably be a little bit disappointed with her answer. Well he was pretty good to start she began. I calmed him down after you left. He was happy to sit in my lap with the other kids during circle time. After that was snack time. Then came nap time she continued. That's when I ran into a problem. I tried everything I could think of but he just didn't want to fall asleep she told me with a sigh. I'm sorry Ricky, I really am she said while handing John's diaper bag to me. Why are you sorry? I asked her. Julie believe me you have nothing to be sorry about so please don't feel guilty. Alright? I tried to reassure her. Alright Ricky she said. Good I said. Have a good weekend and John and I will see you on Monday I told her before we left. Come on buddy let's go home I told John as I buckled him into his car seat. Before I started driving I took a minute to put on John's favorite children's music radio station in hope that it would help him to calm down and relax. When we get home hopefully you will take a nap for daddy so that he and his friend Bella can spend some alone time together. I said probably way to overconfident. We are finally home John! I declared a few minutes later as I unlocked the apartment door. I know, I know daddy will get you changed and down for nap I told john. I gently laid him down in his swing for a moment so that I could quickly check my cell phone.

Ricky: hey babe unfortunately i was unable to get a babysitter for John tonight so it looks like we are going to have to cancel our date. I am so sorry!

Bella : no babysitter? That sucks.

Ricky : yeah sorry again !

Bella : that's alright I get it.

Ricky : John is really fussy got to run ttyl :-)

Bella: hey wait a minute. If you like I can come over and help you look after John?

Ricky : umm I don't know. Something tells me that he is going to be up pretty much all night

Bella : Oh alright I am fine with that. I bet you could use some company.

Ricky : he is also extremely clingy to me so don't be surprised if we don't cat very much alone time together.

Bella : Oh that's alright with me Ricky I totally understand.

Bella : to be honest with you I kind of love the fact that John is so attached to his daddy:-) :-)

Ricky : aww thanks babe! :-)

Bella: your welcome :-) oh and by the way I think that John's daddy is super hot!!!!!!!:-) :-)

Still Ricky pov

I quickly slipped my phone back into my pocket then lifted John up from his swing. Come on buddy , it's time for you to have a nap I said as I took him to his room. I gently laid John down on the changing table and quickly changed his diaper. Alright john it's nap time I told him as I swaddled him in a blanket. I Sat in the rocking chair across from the crib with a very fussy john cradled in my arms. Once he finally fell asleep and gently placed him inside his crib. Goodnight buddy daddy loves you I whispered to him before I left the room.
