Chapter 8.5

Doctor:"well I have some good news and some bad news."

Bey:"ok."

Doctor:"which do you want to hear first."

Bey:"I'll take the good news."

Doctor:"well the good news is congratulations you are indeed two weeks pregnant."

Kelly:"ooo I told yo stubborn ass you should listen to me more often."

Bey:"O MY GAWWWDDDD!"

I'm not sure if I can handle two kids.

Doctor:"but the bad news is your fetal tissue is damaged that's probably why you've been in so much pain."

Kelly:"so what does that mean."

Doctor:"that means that the chances of both the mother and the baby making it out alive are very very slim."

Bey:"so you mean I can't have children of my own ever."

Doctor:"you can but then you run the risk of you dying."

Bey:" but is there anything I can do to reverse it or stop it."

Doctor:"there are some things we can do to stop it or reverse it but we can't do it now because you are currently pregnant so we are gonna have to wait and see if the baby dies in its own or if we have to kill it if you want the surgery to reverse it."

After hearing that I guess I tuned everything out.I started to shake again and felt extremely cold like the warm heart I had turned into stone cold ice.The next time I looked up Kelly was talking to the doctor I couldn't hear what she was saying but I then see Jay causally strolling through my room door.

Jay:"hey baby so what's happening?"

Bey:"............"

Jay:"bey baby are you okay you looked zoned out what's wrong?"

Kelly:"Jay I don't think now is the time I will tell you tomorrow."

Jay:"ok well is she ready to go home so I can care for her."

Kelly:"yea and while your at it take jewel with you and when you get them in the car come see me in the front of the hospital."

After what they said Kelly have jewel to Jay and Jay reached out for my hand I grabbed it and walked to the car with my head down.Once we got to his car he opened my door and then went to put jewel in the car.He gave me the keys and I turned on the radio and the air cause it was really hot in the car.I seen Kelly and Jay go back into the hospital and I wanted to know what was happening so I took the keys out and popped the trunk I pulled out several jackets and covered jewel up in the back seat.I made sure I locked all the doors to the car and then made my way back into the hospital.when I first walked in I seen them turn down a side hallway so now I was really interested in what was going on.I made sure I stayed lowkey as I followed them down the hallway.They walked into a room close to the exit and I stood in front of the door as I eavesdropped.

Kelly:"look Jay I don't know how much longer I can do this that is my Bestfriend and hiding this from her is killing me."

Jay:"yea I know that's my future mode I don't know if I can keep hiding this from her."

Kelly:"all I know is you won't and will not marry her under my watch until you tell her."

Jay:"what the heck Kelly I though you were on my side."

Kelly:"I'm on no ones side but the fact that you went and got your side piece PREGNANT and that she's keeping the child is enough for me to keep you from marrying her until you tell her everything."

Jay:"ok Kelly lower your tone before someone hears us."

Kelly:"I hope they do so they can know how trifling you are to do that to bey when all she did was love your big lipped camel face looking ass I hope you get it together before I have to tell her myself."

Jay:"no I will handle it at the right time just don't tell her I will handle it I promise."

Kelly:"whatever let's go before she thinks you back here fucking me or something."

I heard the entire conversation and once it was over I ran to the car not caring about anything but getting home.I picked up jewel from the backseat and put her on my hip.I took off the promise ring Jay gave me a while ago and put it in the drivers seat of the car along with his keys.I can't fight a battle on my own if he's not willing to fight neither am I.I started walking down the street with jewel in my hip.After walking far enough away from the hospital I stopped to rest at a busy stop bench and pulled my phone out to call Michael.His phone went straight to voicemail so I decided to leave a message.

Bey:"Michael hey it's bey ummmm I was just seeing if you were busy tonight cause I need someone to talk to I'll call you back later once I have a place to stay."

After I find he's the message I did a long sigh and jewel began to wake up.

Jewel:"mommy where are we what's happening?"

Bey:"nothing baby we are just gonna catch a cab back to the house and pack our bags and go on a little vacation just me and you."

Jewel:"but what about daddy?"

Bey:"he'll join us again later on come on let's go the cab is here."

Just as I was getting into the cab my phone rang and I decided to ignore it assuming it was Jay anyway.I looked down at jewel and smiled I remember what that I made a promise with my mom when she was dying that if I ever really needed her and her guidance that she would send me a sign or a little piece of her to help me and jewel was that piece to my puzzle.When we got home Jay wasn't here yet so I hurriedly packed my laptop my clothes and jewels things and hopped into my car and drove off the the nearest hotel.Once we checked into our room jewel took a bath and changed into her pjs then I took a shower and changed into mine.I turned on the tv and turned off the lights in the room and me and jewel cuddled as I cried.

Jewel:"mommy what's wrong?"

Bey:"nothing baby nothing's wrong."

I said as I once again put on the fake smile that I loved and have been doing my whole life the only time that I have genuinely smiled was with my dad and with jewel.

Jewel:"I know your not okay but I know how it feels to not want to talk about it so I'll leave it alone."

Bey:"thanks baby it's getting late you should get you some sleep I'll be okay in the morning."

I told her I think I needed those words more than she did.

Jewel:"ok goodnight mommy."

Bey:"goodnight baby."

I turned the tv off and wrapped my arms around her and tried my best to go to sleep.
