'How was your first night back?' Ross asked at breakfast.
'It felt so weird sleeping in my own bed,' Esme said. 'Even though I've got my own bed at the apartment.'
'Are you liking LA then?' he asked pouring himself some orange juice.
'It's different,' Esme replied. 'I feel so grown up.'
'Es is having real grown up problems now,' Ecie said. 'You'll be able to sort out her love life too.'
'No I'm not,' Esme said. 'It's nothing.'
'I want to know,' Ross grinned. 'Spill.'
'It's nothing,' Esme said. 'Really.'
'One of Taylor's friends has a crush on her and kissed her on the lips,' Ecie said spreading butter on her toast.
'Ecie!'
'What?' Ecie laughed. 'I actually meant it that time.'
'I hate you.'
'Oh come on Es,' Ecie laughed. 'I think it's cool to be caught up in something like that. It sounds kind of kinky.'
'Ignore her,' Ross laughed. 'Did you tell Taylor?'
'No,' Esme said glaring at Ecie. 'He doesn't need to know. It's not like it'll happen again.'
'It might do,' Ross said. 'You never know.'
'So you're telling me that if one of your best friends kissed Emily and had a crush on her, you'd want to know? Really?'
'I guess it would probably make things a little awkward and complicated, but yes, I would want to know,' Ross replied. 'I wouldn't like the idea of anything happening behind my back.'
'You're just saying that,' Esme said. 'Nobody would ever want that.'
'Ross is always honest in these conversations,' Ecie said. 'He won't just make up an answer.'
Esme looked at her brother. 'You would honestly want to know?'
'Yeah, I would,' Ross nodded. 'I know I wouldn't want to hear it, but I would want to know. It's just something that happens and we can't help how we feel or who we fall in love with. Taylor's a little older than you, so hopefully he'll be mature and want to know.'
'But what about their friendship?' Esme asked. 'It would ruin it.'
'Now it's not like you had sex with his friend, is it?' Ross said. 'If you did, that would definitely ruin it. But maybe it'll just make Taylor weary of his friends.'
'It'll make him keep an eye on you for once,' Ecie grinned. 'You won't have to worry about his friends anymore.'
'So I should tell him?' Esme asked.
'Yes,' Ross nodded. 'You managed to tell him about Simon without any trouble.'
'Simon was different,' Esme said. 'Simon was totally different.'
'Well then just pretend that his friend is Simon,' Ross said. 'Us guys are sensitive too and don't like hearing stuff like that, but we also don't like being lied to either. We want the truth just as much as you girls.'
