Ecie walked into the apartment with Lauren and they dropped their bags by the front door. They heard voices in the kitchen and made their way there.
'OH my god!' Ecie screamed the second she saw Verde sitting at the work surface eating lasagna. She ran over to him and almost knocked him off his seat. 'Verd! You're back. What are you doing here?'
'I transferred from Columbia,' Verde replied.
'You're kidding?' Ecie said excitedly. 'You really moved here?'
'Just for you,' Verde laughed. 'I'm living here now with you guys.'
'That's so awesome,' Ecie grinned. 'I'm so happy you're here. I have missed seeing your face every day. What made you want to transfer? I thought... what about your parents?'
'I just decided that it was time for me to face the music,' Verde replied wiping his mouth. 'It's exciting and nerve-racking all at once.'
'How long have you been here?'
'A couple of hours,' Verde replied. 'I've just been talking with Taylor and Es since I got here.'
'Oh right,' Ecie remembered. 'This is Lauren, the girl I've been telling you about.'
Verde wiped his hand then stretched it out for Lauren. 'It's so nice to finally meet you. You have no idea how much E and Es have been going on about you.'
'Thanks,' Lauren smiled shaking Verde's hand. 'It's great to finally meet you too. They talk about you a lot.'
Verde looked at Esme and Ecie.
'We can't help ourselves,' Esme laughed dishing out some lasagna for Ecie and Lauren. 'We love you so much.'
'I love you guys too but I don't talk about you to everyone twenty-four seven,' Verde laughed. 'That would just be weird.'
'I bet you talked to Deeprit about us for ages,' Esme laughed passing Ecie and Lauren their plates. 'I could totally imagine you.'
'We should probably move to the dining room,' Ecie said. 'There's way more space.'
'It means I have more to clean,' Esme said as they all moved. 'Look at how bright it is outside.'
They all sat down and continued with their food.
'When do you think your parents will find out?' Ecie asked Verde. 'They are going to be so pissed.'
Verde shrugged. 'I finally realized that it's my life and I owe it to myself to accept that.'
Ecie giggled. 'I love you so much Verd and I've really missed you.'
Verde grinned at Ecie then caught Lauren's eye and smiled at her. She smiled back before quickly going back to her food.
'You seem quiet Taylor,' Ecie said. 'That's never usually the case.'
'Well you know me,' Taylor replied. 'I'm just being conscientious.'
Ecie laughed. 'Of course.'
Esme kissed Taylor on the lips and moved to sit on his lap. 'You don't need to talk. You can just keep me warm.'
'He wouldn't have to if you put some proper clothes on,' Verde laughed. 'What are you wearing?'
'Yeah Es,' Ecie laughed. 'There are shops other than Taylor's wardrobe.'
'She takes all my clothes and doesn't return them,' Taylor laughed putting his arms around Esme and kissing her. 'I've lost all my stuff.'
'All your stuff is here,' Esme protested. 'I haven't stolen any of your clothes.'
