'How great is this?'

'I'm going to Spain,' Lauren said. She looked at Verde. 'I'm coming to Spain with you.'

Verde looked sympathetic. 'There are other firms...'

Lauren shook her head.

'What?'

'I'm stupid,' she replied. 'I am so, so stupid.'

'No you're not,' Verde said. 'They're the stupid ones for rejecting your application. This is what you've been working hard for all year. If they knew how hard...'

Lauren kissed Verde on the lips. 'Stop talking please.'

Verde blinked at Lauren.

'They didn't reject my application,' she said. 'I said no.'

Verde stared at Lauren. 'But why? You've put in so much effort this year. Why did you turn them down?'

'I know it's going to be the first of many stupid things I do,' Lauren smiled at Verde. 'But I don't care. There's always next year and there are other placements.'

'They're going to kick my butt when they find out,' Verde said. 'You know that, right?'

'I know,' Lauren smiled. 'But I don't care.'

Verde smiled.

'This year has been a whirlwind and I'm still spinning from it,' Lauren said. 'I had no idea that walking into that airport would change the rest of my life. They always say that college is the making of you, but you never listen because it sounds too cliché, but they're right. College is the making of you. College was the making of me and I'm so happy that it made me. I'm looking forward to a summer with you in Spain.'

'Do you have any idea how much you're going to regret it?'

'It depends on how great the sex is,' Lauren smiled kissing Verde. 'You've got really prove yourself this summer.'

Verde laughed. 'I'm not afraid of some competition.'

'Prove it.'

Verde grinned as he kissed Lauren and pulled off her white tank top.

'You really are prepared for everything,' Lauren laughed looking in one of Verde's draws and pulling out the box of condoms that Esme and Ecie had given him as a leaving present last year. 'Care to explain?'

Verde laughed when he saw the box. 'Es and E gave me that last year.'

'Right,' Lauren nodded walking back to the bed with the box. 'Why would they do that?'

'As a joke I hope,' Verde replied. 'They wanted to make sure I was careful in college.'

'Hmmm,' Lauren emptied the box and smoothed out the condoms. 'And how many have you used?'

'I don't think I've used one,' Verde looked at Lauren.

'So how careful were you in college?'

'I guess I was pretty careful,' he replied. 'I haven't heard any complaints yet.'

Lauren laughed. 'What are you going to do with all of these? There are a lot here.'

'I know,' Verde replied. 'I'd forgotten about them to be honest.'

'Right,' Lauren nodded. She took a deep breath and got off the bed. 'I'm hungry.'

Verde looked confused as Lauren picked up his shirt and put it on then left the room.

'Is there a problem?' he followed her to the kitchen.

'Huh?' Lauren looked at him. 'I'm hungry.'

'It was a joke you know, the condoms,' Verde said. 'They didn't mean it.'

Lauren looked at Verde confused. 'I don't understand. I don't care about the condoms. I think it's funny. I just came to get some food.'

'Right then,' Verde nodded. 'I just thought that...'

'Thought what?'

'Never mind.' Verde looked at Lauren for a moment then kissed her suddenly, pushing her against the wall and pulling off his shirt.
