'Hey Ecie,' Landon called to the bathroom as she had a shower. 'Do you want me to answer your phone?'
'Sure, go ahead,' Ecie replied. 'Just tell them to leave a message.'
'Sure,' he replied. 'Hello? Who is this?'
'Where is Ecie?'
'She's kind of busy at the moment,' Landon replied. 'Do you want to leave a message?'
'Yeah. Tell her that I'm waiting for her at her apartment.'
'Okay,' Landon said. 'Who is this?'
'Just pass on the message.'
Landon was about to speak when he heard the dial tone ringing out.
'Who was that?' Ecie asked walking into his bedroom with a towel wrapped around her body.
'They didn't say,' Landon said putting his arms around Ecie. He kissed her on the lips and held her closely. 'They just said they were waiting for you at the apartment.'
'And you're sure they didn't leave a name,' Ecie said looking up at Landon.
'I'm sure,' he replied. 'Do you have any idea who it might be?'
'I've got to go,' Ecie said pulling away from Landon and looking around the room for her things quickly.
'Why?' Landon said watching as Ecie dried herself then started putting on her underwear. 'What happened?'
'Nothing happened,' Ecie replied shaking her head. 'I've got to get over to the apartment now and I don't know about the traffic.'
'So you know who it is?'
Ecie shrugged. 'It doesn't matter.'
'Who is it?'
'Landon,' Ecie said pulling on a pair of black leggings. 'Can we not do this right now? I've got to go.'
'We've only just got things back to normal again,' Landon said. 'I don't want something stupid to trigger it off again.'
'Thanks for that,' Ecie scoffed. 'I've never been called crazy by a boyfriend before.'
'I'm not calling you crazy,' Landon said as Ecie put on her socks and chocolate Ugg boots. 'I'm just worried...'
'Well you don't need to be,' Ecie replied reaching for a jumper. 'Everything is fine.'
'Are you playing me?' Landon asked looking at Ecie.
Ecie stared back at him. 'What?'
'Are you playing me?' Landon repeated clearly. 'You told me a lot of stuff in Palm Springs, so I know you pretty well. Are you playing me?'
'No,' Ecie said. 'I'm not playing you. Do you not trust me?'
'It's not that,' Landon said. 'You've been acting off lately and I understand everything that's gone on with you, that's why I'm being more lenient. But if you are Ecie, if you are, you should know that I will not share you with another guy. You'll have to choose.'
'Landon...'
'No,' he said seriously. 'You'll have to choose but I'll say something. I swear to god that I will not give you up for anything. I will fight to have you, if I have to. I love Ecie and I will never let anyone take you away from me.'
'You're acting a little overdramatic, don't you think?' Ecie said looking at Landon.
'I mean every word,' Landon said. 'I really do.'
