'Am I even supposed to understand you?' Verde asked leaning against the wall in Lauren's bedroom.

Lauren laughed. 'Are you?'

'I don't know,' Verde shrugged. 'I try really hard, but I just can't get inside your head. Every time I think I know something, you come in and shut me down.'

Lauren laughed again.

'I want to understand,' Verde said. 'I want you to make me understand what goes on in your head.'

'I don't know how I could do that,' Lauren said. 'There's always so much going on, all the time. Even I can't keep up.'

'Then how about you try anyway,' Verde said. 'You talk and I'll try to keep up.'

Lauren smiled. 'You really want to understand me?'

'As much as I want to kiss you.'

'We're going to need some alcohol.'

Verde knelt by Lauren's side, rubbing her back, as she threw up in the toilet.

'I'm sorry, can I get you anything?'

'Its fine,' Lauren laughed wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. 'I'm okay.'

'Are you sure?' Verde asked. 'I feel like this is my fault.'

Lauren turned her head and smiled at Verde. 'It's not.' She turned back to the toilet and threw up some more.

'We're never drinking that much again...'

'Calm down,' Lauren chuckled. 'I can remember when I was fourteen and I was on a school trip, we all drank on the last night and I woke up the next morning in the bathroom, totally confused.'

Verde looked at Lauren. 'Fourteen?'

'Yeah,' Lauren gagged. 'Fourteen. I think that's when I started living,' she laughed. 'After fourteen years, I actually started living.'

'How much living did you do?'

'I did my fair share,' Lauren smiled. 'It was fun.'

'Are you going to tell me, or am I going to have to fill you with more booze.'

Lauren laughed turning to face Verde. 'You're cute.'

'Hmm.'

Lauren kissed Verde on the lips.

'Urgh...'

'Shut up,' Lauren smiled.
