'Hey, Taylor?'
'Hey honey.'
'Who is this?' Esme asked. 'Where's Taylor?'
'He's outside.'
'Who is this?'
'Please don't hang up...'
'Dylan,' Esme said. 'Could you pass the phone to Taylor? I need to talk to him.'
'You haven't told him about what happened, have you?'
'That's none of your business,' Esme said. 'Can I just speak to him?'
'I was very high and drunk,' Dylan said. 'I honestly didn't mean to kiss you. It was a stupid mistake that I wish had never happened. I don't like you either. I don't know what got into me. I guess it was being on substances or something.'
Esme listened patiently. 'Well you certainly know how to make a girl feel loved.'
'Sorry,' Dylan said. 'Just don't tell Taylor. It was a mistake and it won't ever happen again. I promise.'
'Okay,' Esme said after a moment. 'Fine, okay. I won't tell him.'
'Thank you.'
'Can I speak with him though?'
'Oh, sure,' Dylan said passing the phone to Taylor. 'It's Esme.'
'So you like me now?' Taylor laughed when he got the phone. 'What's brought this on?'
'Nothing,' Esme replied. 'I just wanted to hear your voice. I miss you.'
'Yeah I'm sure you do,' Taylor laughed. 'The last time I saw you, you told me that you didn't want to see me again.'
'I was mad at you for being a jerk,' Esme replied.
'So you like me now?'
'I think so, yeah,' Esme smiled. 'Maybe.'
'I love you Es,' Taylor said. 'When are you getting back?'
'Either tonight or tomorrow morning,' Esme replied. 'Can I see you tomorrow night?'
'Are you sure you won't want to hang out with Ecie instead?'
'I'm sure,' Esme smiled. 'Can we hang out alone?'
'I'll think about it,' Taylor grinned. 'You can't keep being so mean to me all the time.'
'You need to start acting like a man,' Esme laughed. 'You just get on my nerves all the time and it's so frustrating.'
'I promise to stop getting on your nerves as much,' Taylor said. 'Do you promise not to get so mad at me anymore?'
'I'll try my hardest,' Esme smiled. 'I love you.'
'You're so perfect for me,' Taylor said. 'I want you now.'
'Well you'll have to wait,' Esme said. 'I'll see you tomorrow.'
'Oh I see how it is,' Taylor laughed. 'You call me for the first time in a week and now you want to leave me? I see how it works.'
'I'm at a barbeque with everyone,' Esme replied. 'I've got to get back. I just wanted to talk to you before I did.'
'That's cool,' Taylor said. 'So I'll see you tomorrow?'
'Yeah,' Esme nodded. 'I'll come by the store and see you then we can hang out in the evening or something.'
'Okay,' Taylor replied. 'I love you.'
'I love you too,' Esme smiled. 'I miss you so much.'
'Do you want me to drive up now?'
