'My parents are coming into town,' Lauren said lying on Verde's chest. 'I don't know if I want them to.'
'Is it just them or your whole family?' Verde asked playing with Lauren's hair and breathing on her shoulder. He stroked her bare shoulder with his free hand then kissed her shoulder.
Lauren pressed her hand against his chest then moved herself slightly. 'Verd,' she said. 'I'm going to dump Ethan.'
Verde looked at Lauren. 'You are? Really?'
'I've only slept with him once,' Lauren replied. 'I've slept with you like a thousand times more.'
Verde shook his head. 'Don't dump him. You don't want to.'
'I want to be with you,' Lauren replied. 'I never thought I'd be one of those girls, but I want to be with you properly. I want people to know that we're together.'
'I mean, I don't want to be that guy either,' Verde replied. 'I don't want to be waiting outside your bedroom door for Ethan to leave.'
'So what do you say?'
'It's up to you,' Verde smiled. 'I guess I wouldn't be too disappointed if you did dump him.'
Lauren laughed and hit him playfully. 'Of course you wouldn't.'
Verde kissed Lauren on the lips and rolled onto her as he pulled his sheets over their heads.
'Morning guys,' Ecie yawned walking out onto the roof where Esme and Taylor were watching the sun come up. 'Did you guys sleep out here?'
'No,' Esme replied. 'But it's so nice out.'
'It is,' Ecie nodded shielding her eyes from the red half sun. She yawned. 'I am so tired.'
'Same,' Esme replied. 'Did you look at the calendar?'
'Oh yeah,' Ecie nodded, reading her twin sister's mind. 'Lauren's parents are coming. Do you think they'll like us?'
'I don't know,' Esme replied. 'From all the stuff that Lauren's said about them, I really don't even know. I'm kind of nervous.'
'Did she tell her parents she has a boyfriend?' Taylor asked.
'I don't think so,' Ecie replied. 'But that's Lauren for you; she's a little secretive when it comes to her family.'
'Has she met Ethan's mom yet?'
'I honestly don't know,' Taylor shrugged. 'I haven't really had the chance to talk to Ethan lately.'
'I know what you mean,' Ecie replied. 'Lauren's been totally awol lately, so they're probably just catching up on some quality love.'
'Yeah,' Esme said. 'I haven't seen much of Verd either, but I think he's got a new girlfriend.'
'I thought so,' Ecie replied. 'I've heard some pretty imaginative stuff recently. It sounds like they're having a great time getting to know each other. Although, it sort of sounds like a different girl every night.'
'Maybe he's trying to get over his broken heart,' Esme said. 'I don't blame him, he's had a rough year.'
'Yeah,' Ecie nodded. 'Oh well, I'll wait for him to say something.'
'I think it's good most things are finally sorted,' Esme replied. 'School is almost over, mom's going to have a baby in a few months. Life is great.'
'Hey guys,' Verde grinned coming out onto the roof in a pair of sweatpants carrying a mug of coffee. 'I didn't realize my usual spot was taken.'
'Hey Verd,' Ecie smiled. 'Are you okay?'
