When Jess's walking toward our table, I whisper one last warning to my friends. Just to make sure. "Listen, do me a favor and don't scare her off, okay? I really like this girl."
As soon as I'm finished with my sentence, Jordan and Karlie turns their head at the same time, wanting to take a look at the incoming woman. They almost bump their head together with the sudden movements. Chuckling, I wave at Jess, who's waving back with her adorable easy smile. She has her business suit on, looking hot as hell with those tight fitting crisp white shirt and a navy blazer. Her perpetually tousled hair is looking somewhat tame today, with a strand of her jet black hair covering her brown eye. I definitely approve this sexy looking architect look she has now. She's walking in her usual confident stride. Her eyes are on me all the time, ignoring everything else going on around her. She makes me feel special that way. It's like nothing really matters to her but me and only me. My focus on Jess is slightly falter when I hear Jourdan clicks her tongue in approval.
"Well, I'll have to give you this. She's gorgeous, Cara."
Karlie turns her head back, smiling at me approvingly. "She also looks like a nice person. The way she looks at you, I'm sure she really adores you."
"I know, right?" I reply absently, while standing up to greet my new favorite person. I throw my arms around her and pull her into a hug. She chuckles at my excitement.
"Hey, Cara. Missed me?" She kisses my cheek in greeting, affectionately. "Well, I did. I missed you."
"I missed you too, love." I stroke her back lovingly, the way she likes it. She leans into me and giving me another her easy smile. "How's the meeting?"
"Frustrating as usual," she laughs. "I don't know why did I agree to it at the first place. I should have spent my whole day with you."
Jourdan clears her throat and pulls my attention back to the rest of the world beside me and Jess. A little bit embarrassed, I introduce Jess to my friends. Jess hesitates a bit, unsure to do the normal handshakes or the air kisses, Hollywood style. But Jourdan and Karlie each pulls her into a warm hug, which she accepts happily. Well, who doesn't like to be hugged by two of the most gorgeous women on earth?
When Jess takes a seat beside me, she leans closer and whispers to my ears. "Is it too late to ditch you and go after Karlie or Jourdan instead?" She wiggles her eyebrows playfully, making me groan in disbelief.
"Five minutes around another ridiculously pretty girls and you already changed your mind?" I punch her shoulder playfully. "Maybe I should invest on some kind of leash for you."
She only chuckles, then steals a quick peck on my cheek. "Joking, babe. You're the only one for me. There'll be nobody else." Before I get the chance to swoon at her words, she gives me a flirtatious smile. "Though I don't mind with some leash. I'm open to ideas, you know."
Slightly embarrassed, I punch her again. Apparently I hit her harder that I meant to. She groans and rubs her shoulder, "Maybe we should agree with a safe word first, Cara."
"Stop it, will you?" I smile at her pouting face, still rubbing her shoulder. "Oh, you're such a baby sometimes. It was not that hard, you know."
"But you hurt me," she grins, "psychologically."
I cannot help but laugh. I know there's a reason why I'm so hooked with this girl. I kiss her 'injured' shoulder, then rubs it lovingly. "All better now?"
"We're here too, guys." Karlie cannot hide the amusement in her voice. "Remember? These two awesome girls you are currently having lunch with?"
"Sorry," Jess and I say in unison, with a similar grin on our face.
After Jess ordered, Jourdan smiles mischievously at her. "So, Jess. We have heard a lot about you from Cara. She actually can't stop talking about you, honestly."
Jess throws a glance at me, then grinning widely. I really want to disappear from here right now. "All good, I hope."
"Of course. One word more and I'd think that you're too good to be true."
They laugh at Jourdan's teasing, leaving me blushing furiously. I'm so going to kill her after this. "Believe me, I'm not." Jess chuckles, then pats my thigh while looking at me with her warm brown eyes. "She's the one who's just too good to be true."
While Jess and I are too busy gazing into each other's eyes, Jourdan and Karlie share a look. They are smiling at each other while shaking their head in amusement. I know what they're thinking right now. Jess and I are too far gone to be saved from what others called falling in love. At least for me, I'm definitely are going into that direction. I mean, one look from her and I know that she really sees me. Not the elusive veil I have on as the Hollywood celebrity.
The rest of the lunch were very pleasant. Jess impressed Jourdan and Karlie with her extensive knowledge about almost everything, at least everything related to art. My friends were particularly impressed with her works, a couple of building from around the world who are not only beautiful, but also environmentally friendly. But what impressed me the most is how normal Jess acted around them. She treated my friends like any other people who haven't been in Vogue covers. She made me feel normal, something that I've never felt in a long time before.
"So, did I pass the test?" Jess asks playfully to Karlie and Jourdan, who are immediately laughing at her question.
"With flying colors," Karlie nods her head while grinning. "Well, at least the initial one," Karlie adds mischievously.
"It's true. This one right here," Jourdan points me with her thumbs, "needs more than one test to tame."
"I know," Jess smiles at me affectionately. She reaches for my hand and holds it up, showing up my lion tattoo on my forefinger. "I mean look at this. She's a lioness, man."
I growl at Jess playfully, before biting her shoulder gently. Her warm brown eyes light up when she laughs in return of my playful bite. "My crazy, silly lion," she says. Then she lifts my hand up to her lips and put a feather light kiss on it. My heart swells twice it size instantly. I nuzzle my face to her neck, feeling the warmth of her skin and loving the distinct scent of hers. I wrap my free arm around her waist, pulling her close in a possesive embrace. Mine.
