I drag my luggage along the airport aisle, feeling exhausted as hell. It has been a long and tiring week. Not to mention the eight hours long flight to New York. I sigh heavily as I imagine the traffic I have to suffer before I get to see Jess. I really don't want to sit idly without nothing to do as I am stuck in my cab. What I really want to do is see Jess' s face and have her loving arms around me. But of course I told her that she doesn't have to pick me at the airport. I thought that since I arrived late at night, I shouldn't make her wait for me and waste her precious sleeping time. Her job is already as demanding as it is, she really needs all of the rest she could get. I look at my phone to look at the clock. It's ten minutes past midnight. Goddamnit, why the hell couldn't I wait for tomorrow's flight and get some rest first at my hotel room? No, I jumped in at the first flight to New York, just so I can see Jess as fast as I can.

I play with my phone while I walk to the arrival gate, not paying attention to my surroundings. A lot of emails and notifications as usual. I ignore the work related notifications and reply Kendall's message. She wanted to meet up with me while I'm in New York. Nice. I missed her and really need my CaKe time. A thought pops in my mind. Should I ask Jess along, to introduce her to Kendall? Or should I just enjoy our rare quality time with Kendall? Nope, too tired to decide that right now. I make a mental note to bring this up to Jess later. I continue to scroll through my message as I hear footsteps rushing toward me. Then someone taps on my shoulder. Probably some fans. Oh, no. I really not in the mood for this. Not in at midnight, not in the middle of the freaking airport.

"What?" I snap at the intruding stranger as I turn back to meet the person.

"Whoa, relax, babe. It's just me," Jess holds up her hand playfully. She has the biggest and sweetest smile on her face. My body responds instantly to her presence, making me all warm and happy inside. Gone all of the weariness and sour moods I had before. She has a bouquet of red roses on her hand, which she offers to me like a peace offering. I accept her bouquet and throw my arms around her.

"Hey, I missed you too, babe. Welcome home," she says.

"I thought that we already agreed that you're not going to pick me up here?"

"We did." A big grin greets me again when I pull away a bit to see my favorite face in the whole world. "But I can't wait to see you again."

There are many kinds of girlfriends out there. The one who promised to pick you up and didn't show up. The one who showed up when she agreed to pick you up. The one who did as she was told. And there's Jess, who showed up any way even when I arrived in the middle of the night and didn't want to trouble her by picking me up. I am truly touched by her sweey gesture and pull her closer again for a long kiss.

"I always knew that you're a keeper," I whisper to her lips. She only chuckles and kisses me again. "I love you."

"I love you too, baby. Now let's get you home so I can show you how much I love you."

As tired as I was last night, Jess and I didn't really waste our time by sleeping. I was insatiable, always ready for her touch. Once more came repeatedly until we didn't have any energy left. I smile to myself as I recall our lovemaking last night. We barely made to the bedroom. God, it is so good to be with her. I roll closer to her and rest my head on her shoulder, listening to her even breathing. To her steady heartbeats. And marveling on how it matches mine. I look closer at her face, which is smiling even when she's asleep. The easy smile I came to love and crave for.

"Good morning, sunshine," she says when she's finally awake. She kiss the top of my head affectionately.

"Good morning, love."
