It's not difficult to find her in the mass of people at the after party. I know it's probably just my imaginative mind talking, but I swear that she shines brightly when I see her talking with her model friends. She's laughing now, tipping her head skyward as she lets out the most adorable sound I've ever heard. Her companies are intimidating as hell, incredibly tall, gorgeous and famous. I'm definitely not ready to cut in to talk to her when she's surrounded by her friends. I imagined that I would find her alone as I walk confidently toward her. But it's not a breaking news that reality isn't as pretty as my wistful thinking. Not having the courage to approach her, I linger around, making myself easy for her to spot while stealing a glance once in a while. It isn't working. She is oblivious to my presence.
I want her. I want to talk to her, making her laugh, and charmed her with my wits. But I also want a billion dollars and it's sure as hell I'm not getting that either. Life won't hand you things just like that. Sometimes what you want isn't what you get. Life works that way. Simple and cruel. So I turn back and tip a waiter to deliver my flowers to Cara later. I attached a note for her. Hey, Cara. Congratulations for your amazing show tonight. You were amazing out there. Anyway, did you find my surprise? The lion eating bacon one? Get it? Ha, made it just for you. Hope you like it. I'm really glad that I got the chance to meet you. Take care, Cara. Yours, J.
I smoke a cigarette before I go at the balcony. That way, I can see her expression when the waiter deliver my roses. She looks a little bit puzzled when the waiter hand her the bouquet and the note. She unfold the note and quirks her brow as she's reading it. A small smile curls on her lips, she chuckles a little bit. After she finished, she looks up and searches around the room, probably looling for the sender. She's looking for me. Uh, should I go for it? But before I make up my mind, her friend gets her attention back, leaving my note forgotten already. She folds the note back and slips it into her purse. At least she didn't throw it away instantly. Maybe tomorrow she would forget about me. But not tonight. Tonight I manage to slip into her mind, even just for the briefest moment.
