The sound of chaos erupted outside of Sabine's room as she squirmed in her bed, finding it difficult to sleep anymore. She didn't get much sleep to begin with, she spent most of her regular sleep-hours that night doing...questionable things.
Well, I'm gonna have a weird sleeping schedule for a few days...
Sabine sat up from her bed and stretched her muscles, as she wriggled her toes she was reminded that one of such toes were broken...courtesy of he-who-shall-not-be-named. It was alright though, her toe will recover. Just means she can't reach for cookie jars on a high shelf or something along those circumstances.
Alright, no more Little Miss Bitchy...
Sabine opened the door of her room and just before she took a step, Chopper zoomed right past her. Ezra followed not far behind him.
"You annoying pile of-" Ezra took a very brief moment to greet Sabine, then ran back after Chopper. "-useless bolts and scrap!"
Sabine shook her head and headed into the lounge room where Zeb and Kanan were playing at the table. Sabine walked in and attempted her best to act like she totally didn't freak out on the lot of them yesterday.
Kanan looked carefully at the game in front of him, and planned his next move. He would often move his hand over the table, then just place it on his leg again. Zeb looked at Kanan with extreme focus and impatience.
"Cmon Kanan, I ain't got all eternity!" The Lasat complained. "Don't know if that still swings with you Jedi lot"
Kanan made a move, and Zeb easily crushed him. The Lasat gave off a short laugh of victory.
"I'm not even that good at this Kanan, you've lost your touch or something?"
Kanan studied the game and made a reluctant move, Zeb looked in shock as he was defeated in a single move. He swiped the digital constructions right off the table and accused Kanan of cheating. Kanan held up his arms in a shrug.
"If you're patient and smart, you'll win" Kanan told him.
Zeb got offended, believing Kanan implied he was neither patient or smart. Kanan lost interest in Zebs mental breakdown and shifted himself to face Sabine, who was leaning on the wall and watching their brief moment of drama.
"Sabine..." Kanan began as he stood up moved towards her. "I'm sorry for the lecture the other day, I just don't like you putting yourself at risk. So yeah, I'm sorry. I know I'm not your guardian or anything"
Sabine shook her head and crossed her arms as she looked in his eyes.
"You don't need to apologise, you were right" She said. "I'm the one who's sorry. I promise I'll never do that again..."
Her memory of her experience with The Inquisitor suddenly flashed before her, and her skin turned ice cold to which she very noticeably shivered.
It was something that Kanan was able to sense.
"Sabine, are you alright? You seem..." He briefly closed his eyes and focused. "Cold"
Sabine put on a smile and a laugh. She rubbed her arms with her hands.
"Nah, it's just freezing in here. Or maybe being out there made me catch a cold or something" She smiled with her teeth.
Kanan sighed.
"Well alright then, let's put the whole incident behind us, we don't need to tear ourselves apart from the inside" Kanan said with relief. "Glad we could work this out, Sabine"
As Kanan returned to his game, Hera, Chopper and Ezra entered the lounge room. Sabine began to grow wary of Ezra, he was the only one who knew that she had snuck out the ship again, or at least she thinks he's the only one.
Well, I suppose all my remaining credibility is in his hands.
Hera glanced over to Sabine and, like the super space-mom she is, was able to tell her current condition.
"Sabine, you've hardly gotten any sleep. This is why you should keep to the schedule" Hera told her. "It would really suck if the Ghost came under attack by TIE fighters and our weapons expert was SIA, sleeping in action"
Sabine shrugged.
"Won't happen again, me and Kanan worked out our problem" She told the Twi'lek.
The news pleased Hera, if anyone wanted the crew to be united more than anyone it would be her. Hera smiled at her and Sabine to her.
"Good, I hope Kana didn't use any mind tricks to make you see his point of view" Hera said as she glanced to Kanan, who was quick to defend himself.
Kanan was not amused with her humour.
"Hey, you know Hera there's a slight chance that I might be able to actually have a good discussion with someone without abusing my power. Besides, that only works on weak-minded beings so unless there's something you want to confess to Sabine..." Kanan returned to destroying Zeb's minions at the table.
Hera sighed and crossed her arms as she returned to the Ghosts bridge.
"Now, I'm starving. What have we got?" Sabine announced as she noticed how nutritionally deprived she currently was.
The Mandalorian hadn't eaten in ages, she constantly went out herself to get into mischief with the Empire so often that she didn't think for a moment what her stomach wanted.
"That's a good question" Zeb said approvingly. "Kanan! What we got!?"
