Sabine and Zeb were playing at the Lounge table, a friendly game of Dejarik. The Lasat was determined to ease the pain of his spree of losses against Kanan by, at the very least, defeating Sabine. Thankfully for him, hours of practice with the much more difficult opponent in Kanan allowed him to easily crush the Mandalorian with every turn she took.
Sabine was down to her last two minions, compared to Zeb's mighty four. She looked at the table with focus, her left hand found itself cupping her chin and balancing her heads weight on her knee.
After a reluctant move, Zeb laughed and punished her faulty move. The Mandalorian looked at the game with a wide mouth and eyes, her functioning arm stretched out in annoyance.
"How in Manda does someone win at this game!?" She exclaimed. "Zeb, I swear you're cheating".
Zeb found it very pleasing that, for once, HE was the winner. However, he knew that his feeling would be soon corrected once he played with Kanan again. Until then, he would make the most of this.
"What can I say?" He said with a stupid grin. "I'm proudly second best here, and soon I'll be first once I figure out how to beat Kanan".
Sabine pouted and made another move, giving no thought into it and wanting the stupid game to be over. Surely enough, she was swiftly crushed and Zeb was victorious.
Kanan walked into the room with Hera and Chopper, they had just been back after retrieving Ezra from the med bay in the rebel cruiser.
"Sabine, the doc said your arm will be fully healed after six weeks, as it is with teenagers" The Jedi told her. "Until then, I don't think we can take you on a missions".
Sabine sighed and looked at the right arm, the casket would make it difficult to shoot and climb. Still, she didn't really like the idea of staying around on the Ghost...at least Hera had an excuse, she was the pilot and therefore her skills were better suited on an actual ship. Sabine? She was a fighter, someone you'd want taking down the Stormtroopers.
"Six weeks of sitting around here on my butt?" The Mandalorian said unhappily. "It can't be that bad, surely?"
Hera shook her head.
"Best that you actually let your arm heal, Sabine" she told her. "Don't worry, I'm sure I'll find a way to make you useful around here...asides from colouring the ship, that is".
Sabine nodded and let out another sigh, it was going to suck not being able to shoot bucketheads for a miserable month and a half. Who knows, maybe she'd heal quicker than the doc expected...perhaps a miscalculation on the droids end?
Unlikely...but a girl can hope.
"And how's the kid?" Zeb asked. "He doin alright?"
Kanan nodded.
"The doctor said that Ezra will make a full recovery in short time" Kanan told him. "Aside from some scars, nothing permanent...which is a relief".
Oh great, so I'm actually more hurt than Ezra, hmm?
They all briefly glanced at Sabine, who they had to thank for Ezra getting out of there. A shame she broke her arm in the process, but in the end they'd say this was all a win.
"On another topic, Commander Sato wants to know if we are going to stay with the fleet or not" Hera informed the Mandalorian and Lasat. "We're going to head to the command centre and give him our decision".
"Yeah, and we're going to tell him we're not interested" Kanan muttered.
"No, Kanan! We need to start putting our skills to a larger use, a larger cause. How can you say no?" The Twi'lek questioned.
Kanan shrugged.
"Ah, I just don't like this whole...thing. I'd prefer if it was just us" He told her. "Fighting the Empire and helping the people is always a good cause no matter how we go about doing it".

When they were done briefly arguing, everyone stood up ready to head to the Command Centre. Before Sabine could leave the Ghost with them, she was stopped by Hera.
"Sabine, Sato already knows that you're willing to stay with the fleet, could you do something for me?" The woman asked her with a hand on her shoulder.
"Sure Hera, what is it?" The girl wondered. "You don't want me to clean out the exhausts again, do you?"
Hera chuckled and shook her head.
"No, it's simple. Could you stay here and look after Ezra? We don't know how long we'll be and I want someone back here to make sure he's okay...someone who isn't Chopper, because he's evil".
Well, I certainly don't like the idea of standing around in a boring Command Centre listening to Kanan and Hera bicker like an old married couple.
She nodded and playfully saluted as seriously as she could look. Hera gave her a smile and left her to join the others. Sabine watched her leave for a bit then turned around back to the upper deck cabin area.
"Well, guess I have run of the ship until they get back" She said to herself.
She checked for Ezra in Zeb's cabin and saw him sleeping soundly on his bunk. Sabine felt so relieved to have Ezra back, it was almost like she was going to have a heart attack when he was taken away by the bounty hunter.
Wait, now that I remember...he didn't actually try to get them to release Ezra, did he? Asshole...Dar'manda!
Well, that was all done now. She headed into her own cabin and lied down. She was bored, she couldn't draw or paint without her good hand so until she healed there would be no making use of her wide collection of artistic supplies.
Bored, bored, bored, bored, booooooored.
After spending a while staring at her cabin wall, her boredom caused her to fall asleep.
