Sabine was standing beside Ketsu as the older Mandalorian piloted the Shadow Caster off the surface of Mustafar and began a new course. Sabine had turned off the comlink in her helmet, not wanting to be disturbed in this rather emotional reunion with Ketsu. For some reason, she felt very happy to be near her again...as if some empty void in her heart had just been filled once more...but at the same time...she was angry.
I can't believe she could have ever left me behind. She only had me, and I only had her.
The anger she had for Ketsu died down the longer she remained separated from her, but after being near her again...the anger was reignited...but so was the love. There was major conflict in her.
"Show me what you want to show me..." Sabine told her. "...and it better be something good. You realise we're not friends, right?"
Ketsu smiled behind her helmet.
"If you say so, Sabine" She replied. "This'll sound ironic considering what went down an hour ago, but...I've missed you".
Pfft. I bet you did...
She didn't want to appear easily forgiving, to let Ketsu off the hook so swiftly...but it was getting increasingly difficult to stay mad at her.
...I missed you too...
"Where are we going, anyways?" Sabine asked. "I don't feel comfortable with you taking me away from Garel".
Ketsu said that she'd answer all of Sabine's questions once she had shown her something...but how did she know that Ketsu wasn't delivering her to the Empire at this very moment? That she wasn't betraying her for the second time?
"Did you notice all the cargo in the back?" Ketsu asked, pointing her thumb behind over her shoulder. "I got my hands on a selection of shield generators...pretty valuable cargo, hmm?"
Shield generators sold for good prices under the right buyers, something she could remember all too well from her time as a freelance bounty hunter. Sabine however, she didn't want anything to do with Ketsu's money-making schemes and jobs.
I'm a rebel, now. I'm a bounty hunter no more.
"We are going to sell them to a client of mine...he pays good" Ketsu told her younger companion. "We've arranged a meeting on Utapau...don't worry, we aren't going outside the Outer Rim...you can remain in a somewhat comfortable proximity to your new friends".
Sabine crossed her arms and curled her mouth. What, did Ketsu think that they already made up? Ready to go with her on a variety of contracts and other devious activities all in the purpose of credits? It was already clear that she was a Rebel now.
"We?" Sabine scoffed. "We? You mean you? I'm not having anything to do with this. Do it on your own, Ketsu".
Ketsu chuckled. Sabine...always the defiant Mandalorian.
"Oh come on, Sabine..." She began. "My client doesn't like the Empire anymore than you do. Remember the Separatists? The people with the clanker-army during the Clone Wars? Apparently he used to run with those guys".
Sabine's sternness was replaced with curiosity, and she unfolded her arms, moving her hands to his hips instead.
"Separatists? Weren't those guys all wiped out after the war?" She asked.
Ketsu shook her head as she prepared the Shadow Caster for hyperspace after calculating the jump to the Utapau system.
"Not all of them. They keep a low profile but they rely a lot on...imported resources" Ketsu removed her hands from the controls once the ship entered hyperspace and moved at lightspeed for the planet of Utapau. "I mean, without their droid army they aren't much of a threat...but hey, if they wanna pay us good, then I'm not complaining".
Ketsu stood up from her seat and faced Sabine. The older Mando then took out Sabine's WESTAR-35's and pointed them at the weapons owner.
"Oh, and I want you to trust me. I already trust you'll do right by me" Ketsu twirled the handblasters and offered the grips to Sabine. "So...can you help me prepare the cargo, sis?"
Urgh, Ketsu why are you so fucking persuasive. She knows me too well.
Sabine snatched her blasters out of Ketsu's hands and holstered them.
"Fine. I'll help you push a few crates" Sabine gave in. "But only because the Empire doesn't benefit from this. After this you're showing me what you want to show me...and then you're taking me back to Garel".
Ketsu patted Sabine's shoulder and nodded.
"That's the plan" She said to her innocently. "C'mon. Let's load them up".
"Assuming you don't change your mind..." Ketsu wondered to herself. "I mean, there's a lot of catching up to do, after all".
She had a good feeling that Sabine would indeed change her mind, in time.
