Ezra squirmed in his bed, sensing that it was now morning when he consciously awoke. He heard Zeb yawn and leave the cabin, the doors whooshing as they opened and then closed. He was rather upset at the Lasat, he did not find the man's words to him yesterday amusing at all.
"Sabine's a pretty sensitive topic to me..." He thought. "Sometimes, anyways".
He probably wouldn't stay mad at Zeb for long, however. In fact, unless you were of the Empire, Ezra found it difficult in general to keep a grudge against anyone. He even forgave the Rodian who had failed him and his entire family, resulting in his parents being taken away by the Empire...and probably killed.
Ezra then suddenly noticed the sound of breathing behind him, and there was an arm around him. When he looked at the hand, his heart almost leaped out of his chest. He immediately recognised that paint-splattered glove...
"Sabine!?" He gasped in his head.
He shuffled against the arm and turned around, he was met the pleasant sight of a sleeping girl with indigo and turquoise hair, still clad in her armour. It was Sabine all right...how did she get there? Oh well, he didn't care...he was just overjoyed to see that pretty face once again.
"Sabine!" He whispered, moving onto his knees and shaking her slightly, not willing to wait for her to wake on her own. "Sabine! You're back!"
When he shook her gently long enough, he saw her eyes open a crack and the girl mumbled. She shuffled in her place to face the wall, and tried to get more rest.
Can't the bothered right now...tired...
She didn't get much sleep last night, between her dream, her time with Ketsu and the while it took for her to sleep again once she got back to the Ghost. It didn't help that Sabine often required the most sleep of all of them, before finally getting up. She was always the...heavier sleeper.
Ezra was persistent however, he excitedly shook her and laughed happily. That void in his heart that he felt in the last two days was full once again, just from the mere sight of her.
"C'mon, sleepyhead!"
Sabine mumbled louder and shuffled again to face Ezra, her tired face gave him a smile and she wiped her hand against his face to make him go away, almost pushing him off the bed.
"Go awaaaaay" She whined with a yawn. "Try'na sleeeep!"
The Padawan lay back down in front of Sabine, there faces close to eachother.
"Forget sleep, I wanna talk!" He argued humorously. "This is every teenage boys greatest dream, waking up to find a cute girl on their bed beside them..."
Heh, that was actually a good one...you little flirt.
Being too excited to keep the knowledge to himself, Ezra sat up, jumped off his bed and landed on the floor. He eagerly ran to the Galley, calling out to everyone on the ship.
"She's back!"
"My day has already been made" He thought."Guys! Everyone! Sabine's back!" Ezra cried out, barging into the room and seeing everyone at the table eating breakfast. "Sabine's back! She's in Zeb's room...sleeping on my bed!"
They all looked at him with pleasant surprise on their face, and they all got up from the table and made their way to Zeb's room. They were all eager to see their favourite Mandalorian again, even if she hadn't been gone that long.
When Sabine saw them all entering the cabin, she groaned and was unable to stop a smile creeping on her face. They all looked at her and all began talking at once to greet her.
"Sabine, my girl!" "We were so worried!" "Wop-wop-wap!" "You're in big trouble, young lady!"
The girl raised her hand to make them all shut up, and she found the strength to sit up. She looked at them and wiped her eyes, then let out a sigh.
"Well..." She began with a chuckle. "You all definitely missed me! Jeez guys, I was only gone for like...two days?"
She got off the bunk and stood before them. Zeb stepped up and mercilessly hugged her, wrapping his big arms around her and giving her a squeeze, lifting her off her feet. Sabine gasped and struggled against him, her organs and bones being crushed.
"Ug! Z-Zeb!" She squeaked. "Can't...breathe...!"
The Lasat then let go of her and she dropped on her feet, taking a gulp of air. She patted the man's arm as she recovered from his violent method of saying hello, and he awkwardly apologised. Sabine then got a more gentle hug from Hera and Kanan respectively, then greeted the naughty droid that was Chopper.
"Hey Chop!" She called to him, leaning over him and waving her hand. The droid waved back with one of its little arms, beeping back at her.
"Well, don't you have a lot to explain..." Kanan said with smile, crossing his arms and tapping his feet as if he was Sabine's father.
Well, in a way...he kinda is. My space-dad.
"Suppose I do, don't I?" Sabine agreed. "Sorry for just leaving you all like that...something kinda came up. Don't worry though, I was A-Okay the whole time!"
Hera gave Sabine a playful small shove and shook her head with a laugh. The girl had made her greatly worried, leaving them all like that with no explanation of why or where she was...
"Don't think for a second that I'm ever letting you go on a solo mission again..." The Twi'lek told her. "You're reckless, you get into needless trouble, you clearly needed the backup but didn't want to admit it..."
The Twi'leak sighed and chuckled to herself.
"...and that's just the way we like you" She admitted, patting the Mandalorian's shoulder.
"What'd I miss?" Sabine asked, stretching her arms and yawning. Fatigue still whelmed her, but for them? She could withstand being awake for a while longer.
"Ah, well..." Kanan began, rubbing the back of his head. "Yesterday Ezra and Commander Sato kinda got...captured by the Empire..."
She was surprised. Kanan proceeded to tell her that he and Rex went undercover within a new class of Imperial cruiser, one that was capable of pulling ships out of hyperspace. They had managed to destroy it by sabotaging the ships functions, and rescued the Rebels in the process.
Interdictor class cruiser, huh? So the Empire are finally researching that kind of tech?
She had heard of such cruisers from her time in the Academy...the ability to pull ships out of hyperspace was a deadly ability, and it's a good thing that project was disrupted.
When her fatigue began to settle deep, Sabine extended her arms and began to move them all out the cabin, assuring them all that she'd answer their questions later, and do some necessary catching up.
"Okay guys, a girl needs her sleep..." She told them. "...and Ezra's bed is very comfy, think I'm gonna steal it for myself..."
They left her, chuckling among themselves and feeling happy about Spectre Five's return. Sabine took a long breath and sat down on Zeb's bed. It felt great to see them all again, she felt more at ease knowing that the crew felt assured. During her small absence, she felt bad about the anxiety they would've all felt for her...even if she knew there was no danger.
And now...I gotta sleep.
