Possibility

Fenn Rau dabbed the sore area of his forehead with a damp cloth, which was so kindly given to him with a bottle of anaesthetic. The bump on his head was irritatedly painful, and the Rebels were kinder to their prisoners than the Empire was...but he was sure the little Mando-girl could go on forever about that.
But speaking of which, that very girl entered the holding area, as she often did. She would often come to chat, mostly to entertain herself. Talking with Fenn Rau proved a humorous experience, and she often liked reminding him on the fact that he was defeated by her in their duel. He had the Jedi to thank for her not gunning him down that day.
He was forced to have some sort of respect for her, because of that...as much as it pained him to accept.
"You have a situation" She told him, with a small panting...which signalled that she had sprinted here. "Your men want to talk with you"
She handed him the comlink through the metal bars, he was curious on what was demanding his attention so urgently.
"What is it?" Fenn said into the device with an imposing tone.
In the background there appeared to be the sound of shouting and...a roaring fire. Whatever had to be told, wasn't going to be good.
"Sir, the colonies have come under attack" A Protector informed him. "A group of starfighters, of Mandalorian design, have rained hell upon us"
The news put a look of surprise on the man's face, and he straightened up. He wasn't expecting to be informed of such a thing, having gotten used to the fact that Concord Dawn had been left in peace since the Siege Of Mandalore.
"Situation now?" He demanded.
"Under control, sir" The voice responded. "Though we have suffered great damage, the attacking force was fended off...but they seemed to leave with the intention of not finishing the fight"
Regardless, it would no doubt attract attention from The Empire. That was bad for both The Protectors and The Rebellion. And for the fools who decided to make such an attack. In fact, the Empire was bad for everybody.
"It'll have been Deathwatch!" Sabine told him, unable to help joining in on the conversation. "Who else could it have been? Mandalorian ships? It had to be them!
The only two significant factions of Mandalorian culture that she knew of, were the Protectors and Deathwatch. Destroying and attacking colonies seemed like something Deathwatch would do, given their terrorist nature.
Fenn shushed her and proceeded, not wanting her contribution.
"Identity of the attackers?" He continued. "Do we have reason to suspect this was Deathwatch?"
There was a pause.
"None, sir" The response came. "Though an outside force has just left to pursue the attackers, gather more information. The Rebels know of this outside force"
Sabine knew this outside force to be Ketsu. The young woman had been scouting the Concord Dawn system during the attack by chance, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to investigate hostile Mandalorian forces. Sabine was glad she was following up on her offer to continue the search for Ezra a week ago...and she was almost excited.
This is the best lead we've gotten thus far.
"It's Ketsu, my girlfriend" Sabine added for him. "You've seen her a few times. She's reliable, and has a lot of sources...if anyone can follow up on this, it's her"
When there was little more to say, Fenn Rau handed the girl her comlink back.
"I demand to be released" He told her. "I'm needed on Concord Dawn...and you, as an apparent Mando'ade, should know this"
His words got into her, and she showed some consideration. But also hesitance.
"Release me, and I will see to it that you are rewarded" He sighed, trying to appeal to her.
But the appeal only seemed to annoy her.
"I don't do things for money anymore" She muttered.
She hadn't done things for money for a long time, now. It never granted her happiness...that was a lesson she learnt a long time ago, too.
"There's more than one way to be rewarded" He went on. "Allow me to return to my men, and you will earn a favour with me...and considering my position as Commander of The Protectors, it's a favour you'll want"
Even though she was largely responsible for him being imprisoned in the first place, he was willing to forgive and forget if he could just return to where he's needed. His hatred for her had died down over time...it was Deathwatch he was concerned with.
"Sato wouldn't be happy with that" Sabine said, weighing up the argument. "You could just call off our alliance...and you could compromise us to the Empire, you DO get paid by them..."
The girl was smart, not stupid. That was what annoyed him.
"For all my honour, I promise not to" He assured her. "This arrangement with you Rebels has proven to be somewhat beneficial over the months...I'm willing to let it continue"
But still, it wasn't enough. She couldn't bring herself to accept his terms. She said that she needed to discuss it with someone else, being unable to trust herself to make such a risky decision.
"Fine, bring it up with your superiors...I was thinking, being the only other Mandalorian here, you'd be able to make your own decisions" He passively-aggressively said as he sat back down. "But whatever you do, get me out of here. My offer still stands. Think about it"
A favour from Fenn Rau would be beneficial to her...having The Protectors expertise with Mandalorians against Deathwatch would be a huge asset in finding Ezra. But that possibility was not more whelming than the possibility of The Rebellion being exposed. Ultimately, as a loyal Rebel, Sabine did believe that the survival of the cause was more important than that of any individual.
Including Ezra. Including Ketsu. Including me.
But she loved them, anyone she considered family. Ketsu was on her own out there, and while she knew she could handle herself, it wouldn't hurt to have The Protectors as insurance for her.
Fenn Rau knew that was what she wanted, just by looking at her face.
"I can assist your cyar'ika, if only you assist me" He further persuaded.
She looked up at him, her expression appearing more straight. She was desperate to have Ezra back, and found the strength to give herself confidence to take the risk...no matter how large. She wanted results, and wanted them now.
"Done" She decided, after a difficult thought. "I will release you. You will go back to Concord Dawn under my supervision and do what you must there. Then I will call in that favour to you and you will help Ketsu however you can, be it in information or whatever she requires of you"
The terms were clear, and he accepted. All he wanted was to be off this bloody planet. She unlocked the cell and he stepped out, feeling quite good about the freedom.
"At no point can you betray us" She told him. "Please...just don't"
"Whether I consider you a true Mano'ade or not..." He began. "I must admit...you certainly have the heart of a Mandalorian, of someone who cares deeply for family. That's something I can respect"
She looked at him blankly, and then they shook hands. She didn't really care for what he thought, but as long as he followed her terms...she'd be satisfied.
