Sabine and Ketsu walked outside together, as the latter slipped a glove over her new appendage. She didn't want to walk around with people not being able to take their eyes of her creepy-looking metal arm.
"I wonder what interesting black market upgrades you can get for these things?" Ketsu wondered as she fixed her prosthetic arm. "Crazy stuff like compact blasters, yeah? Or maybe there'll be a special vibrating function I can get just for you?"
Sabine chuckled and shook her head. She then thought back to Ezra. She had promised to herself that she would talk to him, about ALL his troubles and what she could do for him...she wanted him to be happy. A good kid like Ezra deserved to be happy.
"Ketsu, I think we need to have a talk with Ezra" She said to her companion as she kept fiddling with her prosthetic limb. "Hey! You'll have time to mess with that later"
When she got Ketsu's attention, she repeated her words.
"Ketsu...we really need to have a discussion with Ezra" Sabine told her again, more seriously. "I...I think we're really hurting him. This relationship, I mean...he's not responding well with it at all"
Ketsu wanted to roll her eyes, but instead kept them focussed on Sabine's. Ezra not approving of their relationship? Again? Why was she not surprised?
"Sabine...you need to stop thinking so much about how he feels" Ketsu told her, taking hold of her shoulders. "Of course he's unhappy! He has an enormous hard-on for you!"
Sabine had no intentions of breaking up with Ketsu to make Ezra happy, but she didn't want him feeling so...desolate. So...ignored.
"We really were close once, though..." Sabine admitted. "Before Chopper decided to humiliate us in the worst way possible, me and Ezra were basically together all but officially...how would you feel if I just decided to leave you for Ezra? After all we did together?"
Ketsu took a moment to think about that. Suppose Sabine had a point...if Sabine left her now, Ketsu would feel completely heartbroken beyond repair. Though, it was somewhat ironic for her to think that, considering how she abandoned Sabine all those years ago.
"Sabine was almost broken by that..." She thought.
"I see" She said quietly. "Well...what does he expect you to do? To just leave me for him? Is that what he wants?"
Sabine quickly told her that she didn't know. Not even Sabine herself knew what to do...though it was easy to assume that Ezra's ultimate desire WOULD be for Sabine to leave Ketsu for him.
There seems to be some sort of tension between them.
"It's...very hard for him, and for me. I do care about him, Ketsu...I've seen him nearly every day for the last year, fought alongside him and we've saved each other's lives numerous times" She said as she crossed her arms and looked back at the events that filled the last year. "I mean, it's not like you can both just share me...right?"
Sabine looked for Ketsu's reaction to the possibility of sharing. It wasn't positive, with her curling her lips and raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, right" She added. "Let's...let's just go talk to him, alright? Maybe we can come to some understanding?"
Ketsu sighed and shrugged, while giving her approval. She wanted to be with Sabine happily, knowing that there wasn't someone out there just expressing jealousy for them.
"Sabine certainly thinks a lot about how others feel" She said to herself. "Though, suppose I used to only think about myself"
But now, she could add one other person to that list. Sabine.
Sabine and Ketsu, when heading back to the Ghost, saw that the Kom'rk-class ship was gone. No doubt, Rook with it. Sabine was glad, she didn't want to see the woman ever again. She wasn't even going to consider her relation with her.
Dar'manda scum.
When they got inside and headed up the ladders, the Mandalorians saw the rest of the crew all loudly conversing in the cabin hallway. It didn't look good.
"The holocron is gone!" Kanan told his comrades impatiently, despite knowing they wouldn't understand its significance. "Zeb, have you seen Ezra? Anywhere at all?'
The Lasat shook his head. He hadn't seen Ezra since morning.
"It's okay, I'm sure he'll turn up again" Hera assured Kanan, touching his back. "He's probably just hiding somewhere in the base to play with the thing. He'll come back eventually"
Sounds like Ezra, all right.
"You don't understand, Hera..." Kanan argued. "That thing he's holding, it's not good for him! I need to find him right now!"
As Sabine approached, she came up with a very obvious solution.
"Guys...use your comlinks..." She told them with a sigh. "If he doesn't reply, just use the signal to track him. Simple"
Assuming he has the comlink on him, I suppose.
Sabine took out her comlink and set it specifically to Spectre Six's frequency. She then talked into it, expecting to hear Ezra's voice in response.
"Ezra, you're in trooouble..." She spoke with some humour. "Get your butt back here, out your hidey-hole, and I'm sure Kanan will go easy on you..."
She was surprised to hear the responding voice to not belong to Ezra.
"Hello, Wren" She heard, identifying the voice as Rook Kast. "Ezra's just going on a little trip. Don't worry"
Sabine's mind made the quick conclusion that Rook had just kidnapped Ezra...both their disappearances were too timely. But WHY!? To get back at her!? For not hugging her and crying for seeing her mother for the first time in seventeen years?
No, she didn't deserve my affection.
"What? You..." Sabine tried to speak, but the shock inside prevented her from doing so. "You..."
She heard a chuckle, a sinister chuckle.
"Listen here you bitch, you better bring Ezra back RIGHT NOW or-" She began to threaten before being interrupted.
"Or what?" Rook taunted her. "Listen, honey...don't try to follow me. You'll be wasting your time"
Sabine looked up at her rebel friends, and they were all silently looking on, their faces filled with suspense. The situation was beginning to shape very much like the incident involving the Mandalorian bounty hunter on Garel.
"You're dead to me..." Sabine hissed quietly. "Bring Ezra back now, and it'll be the end of it...but if you don't? I will search for you...and there won't be a single corner of this galaxy I won't look for you..."
And if I find you...oh, boy...
"Good luck" Rook sarcastically wished her, before permanently terminating the comlink frequency.
Sabine was left staring at her friends, her eyes filled with determination...and anxiety.
Ezra...he's gone again...
