"Ah, come back for more did you? Well, suppose when I'm done with your friend here..." The Grand Inquisitor said sinisterly as he pushed his blocked scarlet blade to Kanan's face, as the blades of energy crackled against eachother. "We can have a nice...quiet...chat".
Sabine said nothing, she looked at him briefly then opened fire at the Inquisitor. Kanan was given an opportunity to attack as the Pau'an was forced to deflect her blaster fire.
"You don't get to talk to her!" Kanan shouted. He traded blows with the Pau'an as they flexibly moved around eachother, flashes of blue and red filled Sabine's vision through her helmet.
The Inquisitor gained the upper hand and sliced the handle of Kanan's lightsaber, then swiftly sliced his arm off.
"Oh, I believe I do". The evil being said grinning.
Sabine looked in horror as Kanan fell to the floor and yelled at Sabine to run.
But she couldn't. She was frozen in place. Her feet was encased in ice.
The Inquisitor mercilessly decapitated Kanan and Sabine's horrified expression dulled to a straight face. She removed her helmet as the Inquisitor moved towards her, his twirling lightsaber blinding her.
"Now, my dear. What fascinating discoveries will I make with you today?"
She whispered as she brought the nozzle of her blaster to the side of her head.
"You won't take me again".
The Inquisitor ran at her, his lightsaber speedily humming. When the deafening sound of a blaster made contact with her eardrums, Sabine in the real world opened her eyes to find herself sitting on the lounge chairs. She looked to her left and found Ezra was not being firmly held under her arm.
Another dream.
She stood up and took a few steps on the cold floor before stopping. Her head was pounding and her vision blurry.
"Urgh. What did I do last night? Oh yeah, Ezra..." She prodded through her brain and smiled to herself at what she had remembered. It wasn't the hot oral sex she gave that put the smile on her, it was just how much closer she had brought herself back from how she was a day before as well as improving her relationship with her newest companion.
Her stomach rumbled. She had not taken much advantage of the food she had with Zeb the day before. But now, now she really could eat something.
I should head to the Galley, see if there's anything I find...appetising.
Her naked feet made soft noises as she walked to the back of the ship.Kanan, Ezra, Hera, Chopper and Zeb were all in the Cockpit. Zeb's face was covered by his big hands and Chopper was uncomfortably silent.
"That bloody Inquisitor..." The Lasat cursed. "Kanan, next time you find him you're gonna-"
Kanan shook his head.
"Jedi don't strive toward revenge, Zeb. But I tell you, next time we cross paths my mind will be on Sabine".
A low and upset sound was emitted from Chopper. Hera listened to its sounds and nodded.
"It's bad I know, Chopper..." She said, almost crying. "I can't believe she hasn't told us herself".
Ezra was quiet amongst their discussion, he simply sat and focused on their words. Hera had clearly taken the news much worse than anyone else did.
"Why would she?" The Padawan told his comrades. "I don't think that's something...you'd want to talk about...I don't know if we should confront her".
Zeb was inclined to agree with Ezra.
"Yeah...I agree. I don't think Sabine will want to discuss that with us. Not until she's ready".
Kanan was resting his chin on his knuckles. He did not believe that allowing Sabine to bury her thoughts was healthy at this time.
"Guys, Sabine didn't say much or be around us much even before this predicament. She's always spent a lot of time in her room, ate alone, went off on her own...as if she's avoiding us".
Hera dismissed his theory.
"Avoid us? Kanan, we're her family".
"I know, Hera. But like I said, she's not around us very often. The most I get to see and interact with her is during our missions".
Ezra did hear the words "I want to be alone" escape her mouth, far too often.
Kanan stood up. The others followed in the lead of him.
"C'mon, best we get this over with".Sabine was sitting at the Galley table eating basic cereal. As she ate with her left hand, she admired the picture she made with Ezra in her right.
I know he actually doesn't care all that much about art. Doesn't bother me though, I'm the artist around here.
As she continued eating, she saw Kanan walk into the room. Followed by Hera. Then Zeb. Chopper...and finally Ezra, who was shuffling and rubbing his arm, not making eye contact with Sabine.
The sudden appearance of the whole crew made her uncomfortable, something in the atmosphere...in their body language, wasn't right.
"Sabine..." Kanan began as he slowly moved to her. "We need to talk, and I think you know what it's about".
Sabine swallowed hard. She came to the quick realisation of what the crew had discovered, what Ezra had told them.
Motherfucker. Okay, talk like you think he's talking about the vibrator.
"Ok, look I'm sorry I spent more of our money on that vibra-"
Kanan held his hand out and stopped her.
"You know that's not what this is about. Ezra told us, please Sabine...no more pretending".
Fuck.
Sabine took a big breathe and looked at her friends. They were all focused on her, they were all standing around the table. Ezra looked slightly shadowy as he almost attempted to hide himself in between Hera and Zeb.
"Well, I suppose I'll have to be straight with you all." She told them. "Yeah...what Ezra told you was true. I did encounter the Inquisitor. He did capture me. He did...take me".
She explained the whole story, in more detail than Ezra could tell. Not once did she tremble, or whimper or cry. The ice she felt long ago was no longer there.
When she was present, the most emotionally unstable person in the room was Hera. Oddly enough, Sabine was most the most stable.
"Sabine, you don't need to hide your emotions. Let it all go". Kanan advised to her. "Building up all that torment inside..."
"I'm not crying". Sabine snapped at him.
"And I didn't say you would". Kanan said. "Do you not have...anything more to say? To show us?"
Sabine slightly smiled to herself sinisterly as she stood up.
"Well unless you want to see my stolen virginity..." She said, trekking her fingers on the sides of her shorts.
"Sabine..." Hera calmly expressed her disapproval.
Sabine shook her head and sat down again.
"I was just kidding". She said as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
Kanan was amazed. Sabine took the conversation surprisingly well. Until now he hadn't seen a circumstance like this for himself, but he heard that it involved a lot of crying and comforting.
"So...you...are fine about it?" Kanan asked with extreme reluctance. When Sabine's eyes widened and she shot a look at him, he knew he said something wrong. Even Hera gave him a look that screamed "What did you just say?".
Sabine looked at him for a moment then hung her head slightly.
"What do you think...?" She murmured under her breath. "Oh yeah, rape is totally..."
"That's not what I meant". Kanan quickly defended himself.
Sabine looked at them all. Chopper, Ezra and Zeb had yet to say anything. The teenager pointed at Zeb which made the big Lasat flinch and widen his eyes.
"Zeb, what do you have to say? You expecting me to break down and whimper?"
As Zeb stuttered to form a response, Ezra couldn't help but wonder at the extreme irony here. Sabine was acting tough and convincing them that she was taking the predicament very well, but just the day before Ezra had held the older girl in his arms as she cried her sorrows away.
"Sabine, you're in denial". Ezra told her over the stuttering Lasat, who was almost relieved to not have to form a response.
Sabine shot a look of daggers at Ezra.
"I'm a Mandalorian, Ezra. I can deal with what I'm served". She claimed darkly. The atmosphere between the two suddenly changed and Ezra felt much smaller as a person under her gnawing words.
"If you're expecting me to cry and nod my head as you share your words of comfort then forget it. If you want to help, then leave me alone". As she said those last three words, an expression of familiarity hit the faces of her crew.
Sabine gazed her eyes on them all, they were all looking fed up. They were tired of Sabine always isolating herself from those she would consider her family.
The Mandalorian sighed.
I don't say that TOO much, right?
"Look..." She started, softening her voice. "I appreciate what you're trying to do...but any external emotions I had to share? I already got that out of my system. I'm fine now".
Hera didn't like what she was hearing, she felt terrible about the image she had placed in her head from those words...an image of Sabine sulking and crying to herself in her room as the crew continued oblivious to what had happened. She just hoped that the image never actually came to pass.
"No one should ever have to go through this all alone, Sabine". Hera quietly told her daughter-figure as she moved closer to her and placed her hand on her arm. "It doesn't matter where you came from or what you expect of yourself, you're still a living thing who feels...and we all feel for you".
Sabine looked at Hera from the corner of her eye. Her words had warmed her heart.
The artist then reluctantly began eating her breakfast again.
"Sorry". She said after swallowing, not making eye contact with anyone.
