Killua
I had known from the start that there was a peculiar air about Chrome.
"Sorry to break it to you guys, but... I don't do Nen." Chrome said, shrugging his shoulders. Now that's just plain deceit. He's gotta be lying.
"You don't?"
Chrome shook his head.
"Well, that's a... surprise. Most—no, all fighters in the 200's knows Nen." Wing mused. Exactly my point. I gave Chrome a scrutinizing stare as the guy simply shrugged.
As if having an undefeated streak in the Arena without the use of Nen wasn't suspicious enough. He also exudes and aura of... death. And, I say this with my experience as a former assassin—I don't trust him.
Wing-san raised an eyebrow at the peculiar boy. He eyed Chrome, studying him. I did too, out of caution. Don't get me wrong. I have two eyes, both of them aware of Chrome's... charm. He's handsome, I'll give him that. But, pretty looks won't hide his dirty hands.
"I don't exactly know how to use it. Besides I don't need it." Chrome added after noticing our questioning looks. Well, I for one, refuse to believe him. I couldn't believe him. Because, without using Nen, he wouldn't even be able to retaliate his opponents.
Such was the case with Hisoka, my brother, and my recent match with Zushi. It was only for a moment, but after having used Nen, I was intimidated by even the likes of Zushi. And, there's also Hisoka...
We couldn't even get past him...
"But, the traditional greeting..." Gon trailed off, looking confused. That's right. Without Nen to protect him, Chrome wouldn't even be able to go through the traditional greeting without suffering from a serious injury.
"Yeah. I went through it. I know about Nen. But, no matter how many times my old man tried to beat it into me, I can't do Nen." Chrome explained. I hummed to myself in thought.
'Can't'.
What a peculiar case.
"Oh! You're here with your dad?" Gon queried, looking excited. My eye twitched. That's what Gon is curious about?
Chrome backed away a little as Gon pushed himself on him.
"Hn... No, he's not my dad. Well, Sort of. He's just—kinda like a father to me, I guess."
I swear his cheeks were tinted pink. Huh. I didn't think he'd be the bashful type. Slowly, I made my way to Gon and put an arm around him, facing Chrome.
"Are~ Daddy's little boy, huh?" I teased, giving the cocky shit a taste of his own medicine. However, Chrome simply shook his head at me, scoffing.
"I told you, he's not my real dad. Just my guardian for the moment." Chrome explained, looking at Gon. Now, what did he mean by that? I raised a brow.
"What do you mean by that?" Gon asked—the benefits of having a friend who does the interrogation for you.
"Well, I have amnesia. He picked me up and we've been together since."
Amnesia, huh. That does explain it. But, isn't he being too compliant to Gon's questions?
"Oh... Amnesia? That's too bad..." Gon replied, looking downcast. I swear, he could be a saint.
"Yeah."
"Did you try to get yourself check-up?"
"Of course." Chrome had a distant look on his face. Then, suddenly, his expression became guarded.
