House Hunting

*1 month later*
Surprisingly Josh and I are doing really good! He's totally changed since our last breakup and I'm happy about that. Josh and I have been talking about moving in with each other. Josh's parents are totally for the idea and want to help us with the first months rent, and buying furniture. I'm so happy that they support us but on the other hand my parents aren't. They think that Josh and I will get in to way too much trouble on our own. But they were the first people to tell me I have to be out of this house once Ryder turns 1. We of coursed told Linda and John and they came over to my house and talked about why its a good idea. Linda got them to agree on it and I'm so excited! Today after school Josh, Linda and I are going to look at apartments, houses and condos. Since Josh and I worked a lot over the summer we saved up a pretty good amount of money. I'm returning back to work this week. I'm going to work 4 days a week, 6 hours a week. So Monday-Thursday, 2pm-7pm. Since Josh is doing winter baseball he has practices Mon, Wed and Thurs from 2pm-4pm. After that he will go to work, and he gets off at 8pm. He has off Tuesday and only has to do school, and on Fridays he's works from 2pm-5pm. We will make it work, plus we make really really really good money.

School just ended so Josh and I walked down to the student parking lot together. "Were going to get a house!" Josh said excitedly. "I know babe! I'm so happy I couldn't Ben concentrate in school today!"

I know! Are you picking up Ryder, or after the house hunt?"

"After, it will just make it easier for us!" I replied.

"Ok well here's your car! I'll see you at my house in a few minutes!" Josh said while kissing me. I hopped in my car and began driving to Josh's house, when I arrived I walked to their front door. I knocked and Linda opened. "Hey sweetie! Are you excited?" She asked hugging me. "Of course I am!" I walked in and she offered me coffee and I agreed to her offer.

"So what are you looking for, a house, condo, apartment?"

"I mean who wouldn't want a house! But I don't know if we can afford one but we will see!" I replied.

"Yep!"'

Josh walked inside and he shivered because it's cold outside. It's December right now! That means Christmas is coming. I'm so excited this year I get to be Santa Claus with my boyfriend for our son! "Ready to go?" Josh asked. "Yup let's go.." We hopped in Linda's car and drove to the first apartment. When we arrived the realtor meet us outside. She shook our hands and began talking.

"Ok, so this is the first stop. This apartment is 4 floors total, the room we will be looking at today is on the second floor so you have 2 flights of stairs to walk up and down everyday. We walked up and reached room 232. She un looked the door and we were right in the kitchen and living room. It's really outdated and dirty looking. "Ok so this has 2 bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, living room, and basement provided below. We looked around and it was just really old. "Ok so how do you like It?"

"It's very outdated.." I said in the nicest way possible.

"Yeah, I'm not sure this is the place for us."

"Ok, well, if you changed your mind the rent charge every month is $450 plus the water and electric bill." Veronica added.

We drove to the next place. It was a townhouse it looked nice from the outside. We found building 15 and walked up the first flight of stairs to 115. Veronica opened the door and we walked in. The front door lead the the kitchen, it was cute. It had dark orange walls, nice counter tops, tile flooring, a stainless steel fridge, and dishwasher. It had a microwave, oven, and a nice circle dark wood kitchen table. "Ok so all of the utilities are included. This townhouse has 3 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, and a outside patio." There was a half bath in the kitchen. We walked in to the living room, it wa nice and calming. Blue walls, hard wood floor, a gray carpet, a glass coffee table, and bookshelf. "You would need to bring in your own couch, and TV if you want them." We walked down this hallway and there was a bathroom, it was nice. White walls, beige tile, nice shower/tub it's clean. Next door was a closet, next door was a room. It was pretty small but it could be used as a office, junk room, or guest room it has a small twin size mattress, and bed set hooked up. The next room was medium sized. The walls were light blue, it had light hardwood floor and a nice big window that showed a pretty view. "Aw, this could be Ryder's room!" I gushed. Josh smiled. We walked to the next room it was the master bedroom. It had dark hard wood flooring, a big white fluffy rug, a TV stand, a flat screen TV with cable hooked up. Two matching nightstands. One big walk in closet, and another little small closet. A bathroom with a shower, a tub, his and her sink. It was so nice it was such a modern looking bathroom. White walls, white and grey marble counter tops, and grey tiled floors. The room also had a sliding door which led to a balcony outside. It was little but still nice. It had a 2 nice dark brown outsider chairs and in between the chairs was a little outside glass table with a ash tray on it. This house is so nice! We walked by in the living room and there was a door to outside. It lead right to our patio, there was a big glass table with foldable chairs, there was a grill, a hose, and a little area to plant flowers in. The patio over looked a huge area of grass that Ryder could have fun running in. After the tour Veronica lead us back inside. "How do you like it?" She asked. "It's amazing!" I relplied. "Yeah, it's nice.." Josh said looking it over again. "Well the rent is a little pricy but it's a beaut foul house, that your son will enjoy living in!" Veronica added. "How much!?" Linda asked nervous. "Rent is $1500 a month plus gas, electric, and water so your looking at $2000 a month" Josh and I sighed. "Hey, I can work something out, I can give you guys $1500 with everything included!" Veronica compromised. "Can you give us a minute?" I asked. She walked away.

"SOO, can we do it?" I asked.

"Ugh I guess, we make like $8,700 together a month.. I think we should be good. We have to buy groceries to, our doctor bills, phone bill, gas. Mom do you think we make enough?" Josh said.

"Yes honey, I think it will be fine. $400 the most a month grocery shopping, your rent bill is $1500 plus electric, gas and water, phone bill shouldn't be over $300 a month for the both you. Diapers and formula is about $600 a month I think you guys should be good, you'll have a couple thousand left over for little stuff that you need, or if you want to vacation somewhere. It's money for babysitters, going out to eat, dates, activities, clothes, all types of shopping! I think you guys will be fine." Linda reassured.

Veronica walked back in and we said we would take it so we signed all these papers and paid our fee for moving in and she handed us the keys. Now on to shopping! We went shopping for couches. We found a nice set it was $750. We paid and it said it would be shipped in 2 days. We dropped Josh back home so he could go pick up Ryder, while Linda and I did the fun part. We got every ting you would need in the house. Medicine, grocery shopping, and than we got the fun decorations. Flowers, vases, nice accents, curtains, rugs, cnadles, just little fun stuff to add. We than bough blankets and pillows. Throw blankets and pillows for our couch. We also got Towels, and stuff for the bathrooms. We bought a beige bed spread for the guest bedroom, and for Josh's and I bedroom we got a white down comforter with a nice fuzzy yet silly blue blender and decorative pillows. Since there is no master bedroom bed were are taking Josh's bed set is queen size so we are all good. I'm excited to move in our house in 2 days.
