A/n please comment lots letting me know what you think! I appreciate everything! Thanks for reading! Much love!

Amelia plopped down on a chair in Filch's overcrowded office. Her fingers drummed the arms of the chair and she let out a long sigh.

"I don't want to wait," she snapped, not knowing exactly why she told Malfoy that.

"Well you're just going to have to suck it up," the blond boy said dryly. Amelia, having no reply, stuck her tongue out at him. Strangely, Draco burst out laughing.

"What?" Her voice filled with accusation.

"You're funny Merlin," Draco shook his head and chuckled.

"I am not funny," she denied.

"It's not an insult," Draco retorted.

"Well it came from your mouth, so I just assumed,"

"I'm not always an ass," Amelia looked at him. Draco's eyes were trained on the ground.

"Well not from what I've seen," her tone softened slightly.

"I know, but I kinda have to be mean to you people," a smile teased Malfoy's face. "It's almost a rule,"

"You don't have to do anything," Amelia couldn't stop herself from snapping at him. Although he was being friendly and sweet it didn't change who he was.

"I guess that's a bit true. But what would you know about it? Perfect little Amelia in her perfect little world," nice Draco took a hike, and the familiar one we all know and love, came back.

"Nobody's world is perfect. Least of all mine. What a stupid thing to say," she rolled her eyes.

"Oh please," Draco laughed derisively.

"What? It's true!"

"You? With all the friends? And the older boys? And the hair and the smile?" He gestured widely in the air, "you've got it better than anyone I can think of,"

"You don't even know me Draco," her voice turned to ice.

"I know enough,"

"Ugh why can't you just leave me alone?" She threw her hands in the air and paced around the room. "I never did anything to provoke you! What do you want from me?"

"I don't want anything. I just don't like you," Draco scowled.

"Fine by me!"

"Right then," he retorted.

"Okay!" Amelia sat back down.

"Fine,"

"Can you just shut it?" She asked. Why did boys always need to get the last word?

Draco stuck out his tongue at Amelia, mimicking an earlier version of herself. Amelia tried really hard not to laugh but it just exploded out.

"What?" A grin played with Draco's face ever so slightly.

"We are really mature," Amelia wiped her eyes. "Between you and me,"

"Yeah I guess you're right," one side of his smile tugged up farther than the other.

"I've gotta say, you're not as evil as I thought you might be,"

"How generous of you," Draco said sarcastically.

Amelia chuckled "I mean it! You're actually a bit fun,"

"Rift back atcha," Draco sat down in the chair beside her, kicking over a pile of cleaning supplies as he did so. "Think we could ever be mates?"

Amis shrugged. "Depends,"

"On what?"

"I dunno, lots of things. Like whether we can actually stand each other. And we hate each other's friends so that would suck. I mean I couldn't be seen with you in public or else everyone would lose their minds!" Amelia rambled.

"I suppose that's all true. We're supposed to hate each other. Cause of our houses," he explained, although Amelia thought that was pretty obvious.

"We are Capulets and Montagues, except without any romance shit," she sighed.

"What are you talking about?" He looked at her like she was deranged.

"I like literature," Amelia shrugged. It was true, she adored stories of all kinds. The thing the muggles were so superior in was definitely their literature and their art. It was too bad the wizard community didn't have a large enough interest in those aspects.

"Whatever," Malfoy looked away from her.

"So after this we just go back to hating each other?"

"I always hate you Merlin," he grinned.

"Right back atcha Malfoy," Amelia stuck her tongue out at him. Earning a roar of laughter in response. "Do you think filch is ever gonna show up?"

"The dim wit probably fell down the stairs or something,"

"Here's hoping," Amelia crossed her fingers sarcastically.

"No seriously let's hope he fell down the stairs," Amelia shoved him and he nearly toppled out of his chair.

Filch never turned up that night. And the next day in potions class, Malfoy went right back to how it had been before their bonding time. He even tried to trip her as she walked by. Which Amelia responded by sticking her tongue out at him. Forcing him to choke slightly on his own saliva.

"Malfoy's an ugly git," Ron growled when she got back to her seat.

"Very true," Amelia agreed.

"If I could just give him a piece of my mind," he threatened darkly. Amelia giggled.

"What would you do Ron? Stutter?" She teased, Ron had never been any good at confrontation when they were young.

"Shut it Merlin," he laughed and threw a random ingredient into her cauldren.

"Ron! You've spoiled everything!" She couldn't help grinning though. She didn't care about potions so it was no big deal. When the class finished they all piled out of the room, into the crowded corridor. Draco and his crones pushed pass the Gryffindor gang.

"Watch where you're going Merlin!" Malfoy shouted over all the noise, and Ron made a rude gesture.

"I'm gonna kick his teeth in one day,"

"Of course you are," Amelia and Hermione exchanged looks. Ron could be very dense at times. Amelia had almost enjoyed her interactions with Draco today as much as she had last night. It was fun and for some reason, exhilarating. Of course, they could never be friends though. It just wouldn't work out with the fierce rivalry between their houses. Amelia thought back to the story of Romeo and Juliet and how tragically it had ended for everyone. Gryffindor and Slytherin were two houses, both alike in dignity, but they could never spawn friendship.

Nevertheless, Malfoy was the Montague to her Capulet (without all the romantic shit).
