Amelia immediatly regretted what she had done. Tom Riddle stumbled backwards, but when he looked up at her, a terrifying smile had curled his lips.
"Akkedis told me you were a feisty one." He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and regarded it, interested. "It really is a shame I'm under orders from him not to hurt you. We could have had so much fun together!"
Amelia's breaths came fast from the adrenaline running through her. "Screw Akkedis. And screw you."
"Oh, I don't know if I would be so quick to say that." warned Tom, that stupid smile still on his face. "he sends his regards, as I presume you already know."
"Go to hell." Amelia said darkly, she turned and ran to go help Harry, Tom Riddle didn't bother to stop her. She got to Harry's side and gave him a smile.
"You should get out of here!" Harry insisted but Amelia just sent him a look letting him know what a stupid thing that was to say.
Then the basilisk lunged at the pair of them, Amelia shoved Harry to the side and tried to follow but she wasn't quick enough. The great serpent sunk its teeth into her shoulder, Amelia summoned all her magic and shoved with her hands so she flung the snake off of her. It flew twenty feet in the air before landing with a loud smack against the stone.
But the venom had already started to spread. In a far off world, she saw Harry stab the snake and heard Riddle scream. Amelia felt sleepy, she was done fighting. It would be so much easier....
To just.....
Sleep....
She heard Harry yelling her name but Amelia didn't care. He was so far away it didn't matter.
She was in love with the thought of an easy death.
She closed her eyes and let out a deep breath.
The tawny wolf from so many of her dreams appeared and she knew it was a vision. The creature looked at her from about a foot away. The fingers from a small breeze ran trough the wolfs fur. This was the first time she saw it really up close and got a good look at the creature, it's eyes were gold with a small blue ring around the pupil.
Usually, Amelia saw such a ferocity in this beast, but it wasn't growling or threatening right now.
The wolf looked sad. It's tail hung down, as did it's ears. Whimpering slightly, it padded over to Amelia. The wolf lay down beside her and rested it's head by her injured shoulder.
Amelia stroked it's ears and said. "Hey there friend. It's nice to see you here, you always look out for me don't ya?" Her voice was week and shaky.
The wolf looked up at her with it's gold eyes watering. The long bushy tail twitched and it seemed to say: come on, Amelia. We need you
For a moment, Amelia considered not doing anything. Maybe it would just be better if she closed her eyes and gave up. She was tired of fighting and tired of unanswered questions and people trying to hurt her.
But then Amelia thought about Fred and George. Her two best friends. And she thought about Oliver, Lavender and Parvati. She smiled at the memory of all her Gryffindor friends. And Amelia thought about Glapp, that ditzy little house elf who loved her so much.
So Amelia pulled herself together. She whispered "aperire animo, aperire animo."
The wound in her shoulder started to heal itself. The poison left her body and dissipated into thin air. The wolf vision faded away and Amelia was faced with reality.
But the effort of forcing the fatal substance out left her weak and exhausted. She raised her head to see Harry Potter stabbing the small black journal. Then her world faded to blackness.
Amelia woke up in a warm, white bed. She recognized the hospital wing, she had been here last year as well. She looked over to her left to see Harry Potter sitting in a chair by her bed.
"Hey!" Said Harry when he saw she was awake.
"Hello you." Amelia grimaced as she tried to sit up.
"No you really shouldn't," he put a hand on her arm. "They said you need to rest."
"Yeah, I stopped listening to adults a really long time ago." Amelia sat up, wincing as she did so. "What even happened?"
"Well it's a bit of a long story." Harry replied.
"I got nothing to do today, I actually don't even know what day it is. So please," she gestured for him to continue.
And Harry did. He told her about the Chamber of Secrets and how it was opened fifty years ago when Lord Voldemort was a student at the school. He told her about Lockharts spell backfiring and Harry leaving Ron alone with him. He told her Tom Riddle was actually Lord Voldemort, and after Harry killed the snake, he stabbed the diary and Voldemort vanished. Then the pheonix carried everyone out of the chamber.
"Sounds like something out of a storybook." Amelia laughed lightly when he was done.
"I know. It's weird, this is the second time you and I shared in a little adventure together."
"Yeah, how about next year you let me in on the plan a little earlier? You know, so I can help instead of just pass out on the floor like this time." She laughed but Harry looked serious.
"You saved my life, Amelia." He looked down at his knees and Amelia reached out to take his hand.
"And you killed Lord Voldemort and a basilisk." She smiled. "You were much braver than I was."
Harry shook his head. "I was terrified the whole time."
"Yeah me too," Amelia looked into those startling green eyes. "But d'you want to know what Dumbledore once said to me? Bravery, and courage are not about being fearless. It's about being afraid and doing something anyways because you know it's right." She laughed again. "Or something like that."
Harry smiled at her. "We make a good team, you and me."
"Yes, we really do." Amelia Merlin and Harry Potter sat in the hospital wing. Two incredible children, ignorant of the evil surrounding them.
A/n this chapter took me FOREVER to write! So glad I finished that hahaha.
