A/n I would just like for everyone to take a moment and remember Alan Rickman. He was so talented and such an important part of bringing the story, that we all cherish so much, to life. So maybe everyone could leave a little comment about your favourite Professor Snape moment or why he meant something to you. Always remember Professor Snape.
There is nothing worse on this earth than Gilderoy Lockhart on Valentine's Day.
The Great Hall was adorned in lurid pink flowers that covered nearly every surface. Confetti littered the tables and even Lockhart had dressed up in hideous robes that matched the flowers.
But worst of all, was the dwarves. They had given gold wings and harps so they looked like Cupid. By the time Amelia had finished her breakfast and gotten to her first class, she had already received seven Valentines from her secret admirers.
The dwarves kept popping in during class to deliver Valentines and it was really starting to annoy the teachers. Amelia thought Snape was going to light them on fire and throw them from the highest tower, but he did no such thing.
Harry Potter was the only other person who rivalled Amelia in number of Valentines. He wasn't enjoying it as much as Amelia did (who found it flattering and humorous), especially when a dwarf pinned him down in the hallway to read a Valentine from Ginny.
His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad
His hair is as dark as a black board
He's really divine, I wish he were mine
The hero who conquered the Dark Lord.
Amelia had never seen anyone go so red before now, and when she helped Harry to his feet, he barely looked at her.
"Sorry bout that." Amelia offered him a chocolate.
"You didn't send the bloody thing."
"No I really didn't." She laughed and they walked down to lunch together.
"I don't understand girls." Harry moaned with his elbows on the table and face in hands.
"I think that's the understatement of the year." Amelia poked him gently with a fork.
"I'm serious! Ginny doesn't even talk to me! How can she fancy me?"
"I don't really know." She sighed. "I've barely talked to Ginny since we got here so I'm no help at all."
"I thought you two were really close?" Harry asked.
She finished buttering her bread before answering. "Yeah, but things change."
"I guess they do." Harry groaned as another dwarf approached him. "Not again."
That evening, Amelia met up with Cedric by the lake. They walked for a long time, just talking and laughing, Amelia forgot all about her persistent questions of lizards and wolves.
"You know," he grinned. "I thought of sending you a Valentine."
"Why didn't you?" Amelia sat down beside him.
"Because look at all the other boys who sent them to you. I am not like other boys." He kissed her lightly and brought out a bouquet of sweet peas.
"Cedric! How did you know these are my favourite flowers in the world?" She beamed at him.
"I can read your mind." He winked.
"So what am I thinking right now?" She leaned in so their faces were inches apart.
