"1,652 miles," I said suddenly. Alice looked at me confused, someone turned on a lamp by the bed I was laying on. My eyes widened. "1,652 miles!" I said again. "That's how far away I am from home!" I stopped there, not wanting to sound too dorky with my hypothesis.

But Alice just nodded. "Right, but we don't know why you're here."

"Alice!" Someone growled. I recognized the voice as the person who tried to get me to stay awake when I had passed out. "You're going to scare her."

"I am not, Edward." Alice huffed. "She'll be perfectly fine. I'm just trying to lighten the mood."

"Carlisle told you to wait until he and Esme got home," a new voice reminded gently.

"She deserves to know what we know." Alice quipped. I realized that Alice was the one playing with my hair. "Edward!" Alice warned, "Don't you dare."

"She deserves to know, Alice." Said the voice I believe belonged to Edward. "Edythe," now his voice was soft; like he was trying to make sure I wouldn't shatter. "You aren't in the same world, we think. From what Alice has seen, you're not from here." I turned on my side to face him, only to find that he was kneeling right by me; close enough to touch him, if I wanted. "And we don't know how to get you home."

Tears welled in my eyes again. Great, I'm stuck here; in Twilight. I swallowed hard and my heart raced. God, I thought, why me? Why not Lily? She'd love it here!

"Edward!" The same harsh-but beautiful-voice said. I think Alice said it was Rosalie. "Stop it, you're upsetting her!"

"No," I said, sitting up. "Uh, thank you for telling me." Alice draped her arm around my shoulder, pulling me into her side for a hug. How long have I been out for? I thought.

"Four days," Edward said suddenly. I looked at him strangely. "You've been in unconscious for four days. Alice had us move you in here about an hour ago. Carlisle and Esme went to return the supplies they used from the hospital; that's why they're not here."

I swallowed again; this was almost too much to take in. The gruff voice ( I quickly learned he was Emmett) interrupted my thinking. "How old are you, kid?"

"I just turned fifteen in December." I muttered, wondering why that was of importance.

"What's you're favorite thing to do?" He asked. I frowned. He's trying to distract me. I could see Edward smirk in the dim lighting. Rosalie and Emmett were in the shadows; Jasper was in the doorway so I couldn't see his face.

"I like to read, play the piano, play the guitar and do Geometry." I said. "I also like when I can have a serious conversation without trying to be distracted. Especially when the subject involves my life and is life-changing. Thanks."

Everything was silent until Rosalie walked up, her heels clicking on the wood floor, kneeling next to Edward. The books were right; she's gorgeous in a scary way. She looked about ready to slap me until she broke out into a smile. "I'm Rosalie Hale, it's nice to meet you Edythe." She said in a smooth, elegant voice.

"Um, nice to meet you too." I said, unsure of myself. Great, I have Rosalie's approval for my sass; now I'm just worried about Emmett. no biggie.

As if answering my thoughts, Emmett let out a booming laugh. "You've got guts, kid; I'll give you that. Alright; one more question, deal?"

"Deal," I nodded.

"What's your full name?" Jasper pipped up.

"Edythe Elizabeth Swann," I said. "But with two n's."

"S-W-A-N-N?" Emmett confirmed. "Weird name."

"Mmhmm," I hummed, not amused with his child-like behavior.

"Neither are we, most of the time." Edward said.

I looked over at him. "What?"

"Emmett can be really annoying most of the time." Edward rephrased.

I sighed. "Great, you can hear thoughts."

Everyone stiffened but Edward and Alice, who seemed like they knew everything. "Yep," Alice chirped. "We're vampires."

"Alice," Rosalie growled, but her fixed eyes held concern, like she was worried I'd run away terrified. Or pass out again from the shock. But then again; what shock?

I waved my hand. "Oh, I don't care." I sighed. "To be honest, I'm just confused about how you guys can think of yourselves as terrifying. I mean-you all sparkle! You're practically unicorns!"
