I was lucky that Alice washed my only clothes and not thrown them out. As I showered, Alice had declared that she and Rosalie were going to clean up the bedroom that would become mine. They stripped the room I woke up in of everything; the furniture was moved into the hall and the bedclothes removed. I told them it was fine but everyone insisted.

When I was done getting ready, Alice attacked me with the hairdryer and makeup. I didn't resist but I had to tell her that the setting was too hot when she started. I only let her put eyeliner, mascara, a tiny bit of blush and lip-gloss on me.

"Please can I put just a little eye-shadow?" Alice whined. Rose watched from the doorway, smirking.

"It's just the mall!" I groaned.

"The mall has cute boys!" She argued.

I was about to say that the only boys I liked were the fictional kind but technically, here, they are fictional so I just said "Wait for school, please!"

Luckily, today was Saturday and as far as anyone knows, I've been going to an advanced school in Alaska. Jasper and Emmett put together the story. I was Edward's biological sister and since I was in the ninth grade; our two year age difference (which was apparently normal for siblings, according to Carlisle) made perfect sense.

Alice puffed out her cheeks and complained but agreed. She straightened my hair, put it in a perfect high ponytail and then led me downstairs, down to the garage and into a black Silverado. I watched as the boys piled into a dark grey Volvo. Rose climbed into the driver's seat, Alice in the passenger's seat and I in the back, behind Rosalie.

"Okay," Rosalie said, peeling onto the road thirty seconds later. I kept my eyes of the speedometer because I knew I'd get sick if I looked. "So we're going to Seattle to shop; they have a really big mall there." She looked at me in the rear view mirror. "The boys are getting stuff for your room." Rose smirked. "Can you picture your dream room?"

I even knew what she was doing and I still did it. Surprisingly, my dream room was what I had at the Cullen's house; the walls were dark grey and the ceiling had fairy lights stung across it.. There were lots of books on the half-sized bookshelves and the bed was simple; just a deep lavender comforter with lots of fluffy pillows and fuzzy blankets. I think I envisioned a floating chair in the corner where the two wall-sized windows met. Hoover-dam. I cursed and could just picture Edward smirking.

"Hmmm?" Rose mocked. "Can you?"

"Dang it," I muttered. "Really-I'm fine with the room the way it was!"

"I like it," Alice mused as her eyes glazed over. "But Edythe, I don't see you leaving anytime soon." Then she smirked. "Ooo, I'll have to borrow some of your books sometime, Edythe." She twisted in her seat to look at me. "Edward wants to know if you can focus in more on the books you want." I saw a small silver phone in her hand.

I really tried not to but I loved daydreaming about books; at first I thought about my personal library in my room in Sioux Falls before thinking about the books that have been on my list. Dang it! I cursed at myself before glaring at a triumphant looking Alice.

"You have great taste in books." She complimented. My face turned bright red as Rosalie laughed and passed the boys' Volvo.

"Esme is going to have a field day when we get home." Rosalie said, smiling. "You have no idea how excited she was when you said you'd stay with us. I've never seen her happier. Esme loves to cook but never has anyone to cook for. She's at the school now, registering you for Monday. Fair warning; she's going to baby the crap out of you."

"I've never had a mom before," I admitted. "It's just ever been me and my dad."

"Esme will take really good care of you," Alice promised. "Trust us."

I smiled and relaxed against the seat and looked out the window. Everyone kept saying how we're family. I liked the feeling. I thanked God for the opportunity and before I knew it, we were pulling into a parking space in front of the biggest mall complex I've ever seen.
