Our summer was mostly spent in Alaska, and I discovered that the Denali's were pretty cool for sparkling vampires from the worst saga ever written.

Speaking of sparkling, I finally saw Edward in the sun. And I laughed way too hard.

"Shut up," Edward shoved me gently.

I doubled over, clutching my stomach. "Oh - god - you - actually - sparkle!" I gasped out between fits of laughter. It was the day before we left for Alaska, Edward and I were reading on the bank of the river where the Treaty line was.

After I calmed down, I said, "I'm not going to say you're beautiful because you look kind of stupid. I'm sure Rosalie looks much better in the sun." Edward shoved me again, this time in the water after snatching my book out of my hand. "Edwa-"

The water had been at least seven feet deep and I was completely soaked but when I came up, Edward was rolling along the bank of the river Treaty line laughing as hard as I had ever seen.

"You jerk!" I splashed him, throwing my dark red hair over my shoulder. There was a growl on the other side of the river and when I turned, there was the big black wolf, Sam Uley. Edward's laughter slowly faded and I climbed out of the river on the Cullen's side. Edward left me to haul myself out.

"Alice is going to tear me apart when she sees you." Edward grinned.

"So is Esme," I kicked water at him, still aware that there was a wolf watching us.

"We don't plan on breaking the Treaty," Edward called to Sam before helping me up. He shoved me again, harder this time and I fell over into the leaves and the two of us started laughing all over again. Sam Uley seemed to roll his eyes and meandered away.

Then we finally went up to Alaska with the Denali coven. I finally found out what Edward wasn't telling me, too; he and Tanya have finally started dating. Alice had a vision of them getting married, too, which she thinks will happen in a year or two. After meeting Tanya, I think they're the perfect match.

The Denali sisters are almost nothing like the books described. Kate was probably the most accurate with her sparky attitude and electric touch. Tanya was in no way obsessive; she was a lot like Rosalie in some ways and a lot like Alice in others, but overall - totally Edward's type. According to Esme, Edward had his eye set on her for almost fifty years. Irina was the biggest difference; she was pretty shy, pretty quiet but friendly. Especially since Laurent joined their ranks. They're never apart, in fact, they were married over the summer. Which was one of the reasons we were there.

Carmen and Eleazar were more like siblings to the Denali sister than parents, which was pretty interesting. Carmen was pretty much like a cool aunt, sneaking me an extra piece of cake at the small wedding and making waffles for breakfast with a wink and a smile. Eleazar was pretty chill, too; kind of like a dorky uncle who always made bad jokes and laughed too loudly at them as everyone else cringed.

Eventually, our school supply lists arrived and Alice, Edward and I had to leave. Emmett and Rosalie decided that they'd stay up in Alaska for as long as they could, Tanya wanted to come with us for a little while but with Irina and Laurent even farther into Canada for their honeymoon and Eleazar and Carmen on their way to Volterra for a meeting with the Volturi, it was better for her to stay in Alaska.

Thus, shopping. Edward managed to worm his way out of it, but Alice dragged me from store to store three days before school began. When Esme and Carlisle came back the night before the first day of school, Carlisle told me that the Volturi (who weren't tyrannical leaders) were looking into their archives for a way to take me back home - to my reality of Sioux Falls.

"Even if they do find a way," Carlisle mentioned, "It will take time. It may take magic - and that may even take several years to find - and then to wield...."

I nodded, "Vampires and werewolves I can take... magic though...."

Carlisle had laughed, "Witches are not the strangest thing you've heard of, Edythe."

"If you tell me that Hogwarts is real I may die," I said seriously, "Just fall over and die."

"Hogwarts truly is fictional." Esme kissed the top of my head.

"Hoover dam it," I sighed.
