We went back to Edward's Volvo and Alice went off on another spree about my first day. She was bouncing up and down with excitement and the few people who were already here were watching us with a curious eye. It made me uncomfortable. I hated being the center of attention with people I didn't know.

"I can't wait to see you paint today!" Alice said.

"We're painting today in Art?" I asked.

"No," Alice grinned. "Esme's getting you something today. You're artistic, aren't you?" I nodded. Rose promised to buy me a car if I said one more thing about money, she was dead-serious, too. No pun intended. "But in art we're drawing!"

"Terrific," I said with a little sarcasm. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Mike Newton watching me. Or maybe I was paranoid. Then Edward growled, looking the same way. Or maybe I wasn't paranoid.

"What do you say if Newton asks you on a date?" Edward asked.

"'Ask my big brothers; you know, the really scaring looking ones planning your death.'" I said, quoting Emmett with ease. "Or I could just punch him. It's what my dad said to do."

"You could do both," Jasper shrugged.

"I'd pay to see that," Rosalie said.

"You do know how to punch, right?" Emmett said making sure.

I rolled my eyes. "My dad's the sheriff of a small town with lots of crime. Yes, I know how to punch a baby-faced turd."

"You really don't like him do you." Alice said.

"I kind of know him." I said, not wanting them to think I was biased because of Alice's visions.

"How?" Edward asked. "You seem to know a lot of things you're not suppose to, Edythe." He was smiling; letting me know that he (for some reason) liked that I 'seemed to know a lot I'm things I'm not suppose to'."

"Can I answer it next Monday?" I asked, looking up at him.

He shrugged and nodded. Then he growled, "I might punch Newton myself."

"Easy, Edward," Alice said, leaning into Jasper who put his arm around her. "Or you just might."

"I plan on it," Edward hissed. "The things he's thinking-!"

"I don't want to know!" I cut him off, shuddering.

"I do!" Emmett said, raising his hand slightly.

Edward tensed and clenched his fist, glaring at Mike Newton with seemingly every ounce of hatred he had. "I'm going to rip his head off." He declared through gritted teeth.

He started to take a step toward him but I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back. "I'd like to get through the day without any murders, thanks though." I said nonchalantly.

Edward still glared at every passing boy but put his arm around me in a brotherly manner. "I'll be keeping tabs on you. If you need me, just let me know." He reminded me.

"Yeah, Eddie and Jazz and I will kick their-" Emmett started to say before getting cut off by the five-minute bell.

"We better get going," Alice said. She's been quiet. Her eyes still looked a little glassy, too. Jasper gave me a reassuring smile before leading Alice into the school.

"Have a good day, Edythe!" He called over his shoulder. "See you at lunch!"

Emmett pulled me into a rough hug, and ruffled my hair. "Have a good day, Edy. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." I cringed.

Rosalie quickly fixed my hair and winked. "See you, Edy!" She called as she and Emmett went into Building 6.

"Come on," Edward said, taking my wrist and gently pulling me along. "You're class is this way."

"I'm fifteen," I grumbled. "I don't need help finding my class!"

"This is more for me than for you, Edythe." Edward said, giving a passing guy a hard look. "Trust me."
