The next morning, Alice got me up at 4:30, just like I asked. I showered, put my hair up in a towel and got dressed before Alice attacked my head with the blowdryer and curling iron. Rosalie was right; she didn't let me leave my bedroom without a full face of makeup. It was light, make my lightly freckled nose pop out a little bit. Somehow she made it so it wouldn't smudge and I could scratch my face without ruining my face. I was glad I was pale and had fairly clear skin; no pimples. I put my gold contacts in, too.
Breakfast was a simple smoothie and by then, I was able to read for thirty minutes before we had to leave for school. Edward drove like a maniac and I was glad I was in the back and couldn't see how fast he was going.
"You'll be fine," Alice said as we pulled into a too-tight spot. "Really, Edythe. Remember that you and I have art together."
"You're smothering her, Alice," Rosalie said. "Lighten up-like she could forget!"
"I'm just reminding her!" Alice defended.
Everyone wanted to walk me to the office. Mrs. Cope was there, wearing a dark green sweater and I noticed that Bella Swan wasn't in town and it wasn't her first day; good. Edward gave me a strange look but I promised to explain later.
"Oh, you must be Edythe Cullen!" Mrs. Cope said kindly and she pulled out my papers before I had the chance to say anything. "Do you have any questions for me?"
"No, thank you," I said, taking my schedule and the map of the school.
"Alright," she handed me a few slips. "Have your teachers sign these, okay? Then I'll have to get these back at the end of the day." I nodded in understanding and she smiled. "Okay, Edythe! Have a great day."
"Thanks," I smiled a little and glanced at my schedule as I walked out of the office.
"You have this 'reserved' thing down pretty well," Jasper noted. I gave him a confused look.
"She thinks we're siblings," Edward noted. "You're a good little actor, aren't you?"
"Uh, okay," I said as I moved out of the doorway. "I think it's called being shy but I could be wong."
"What's your schedule?" Rose asked, looking over my shoulder.
"Hey Edythe," Emmett said looking at my papers. "Why don't you have gym or health?" He quizzed.
"I got all my credits in Alaska," I rolled my eyes.

"Why don't you have a language?"
"Credits in Alaska," I said again.
"Edythe, you and I have the same Biology." Edward laughed. "Do you want to fix it? You're in all advanced classes."
"I'm fine; I need a little challenge." I shrugged.
"Alright," Edward nodded. "Do you need help finding Mason's class? We still have about twenty minutes before school starts if you want to walk your classes?"
I looked down at the map and easily memorized it. "Nah, I'm good."
