"Edy," someone mumbled in my ear at an unholy hour. The person was scratching my back in a tiring way, like they couldn't decide on whether or not they wanted me awake. "Edy, just for a few minutes, wake up please."

I realized then that it was Edward so I cussed him out in my head while I rolled over on my side to look at him lazily.

"I deserved that," Edward admitted. "Congratulations on your test." His voice was almost too hard to hear, it was like he was talking to a frightened animal.

"Thank you," I muttered in a whisper, too tired to actually use my voice much more than that. I moved over on the bed to make room for him; if he woke me up, he's going to be used as a pillow.

Edward had lay down on my bed, putting his arm around me like a protective brother would and lightly used his nails to scratch my back. I put my head on his chest, where his heart should beat and imagined a rhythm; lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub. He chuckled a bit at that thought.

"I really am sorry for running off last night," Edward said softly. "It was a stupid thing to do. Carlisle was telling me about what you were thinking about this morning; you're right. No where is safer than with us, I'm sorry. I guess I am like my book-self more than I'd like to admit."

I snorted weakly at that observation. "I guess over-reacting, being impulsive and slightly-single minded are traits that are unavoidable for you." I mumbled.

"It seems that way, doesn't it?" Edward mused, playing with my hair now. "But you do know that there is another option that none of us have thought of?" Even in my sleepy state, I knew what he was implying. "Isle Esme is always an option."

"False," I muttered. "Isle Esme was only an option in Breaking Dawn for yours and Bella's honeymoon. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't exist."

"Edythe," Edward groaned. "You do realize you could be safe there, right? Maybe this wasn't a good idea to bring it up while you're still half asleep."

I moved so I was sitting up, looking down at him. I tossed my hair over my shoulder as I tilted my head to glare at him. My voice was stronger when I spoke; "I'm awake, what do you want to talk about?" My anger flared; somethings are inevitable.

"You'd be safer overseas, Edythe, surrounded by water, away from Forks." Edward sat up, leaning against the headboard of my bed.

"No," I said.

"I guess you and book-Bella are one in the same," Edward said, teasing slightly.

"Stubborn and stupid?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. I was starting to get very annoyed with this. I couldn't stand reading about it but living it, too? That wasn't how this was going to work.

"Edythe, why won't you agree?" Edward sighed, knowing my patience was wearing thin. I wasn't Bella; I wasn't a push-over and he knew it.

"I'm agreeing with Carlisle; you're not going to rearrange your lifestyle because of this." I said. "And if it does come to the point of James deciding to hunt me, I have a pretty good idea of things to do if it happens. I'm not Bella." At that point, I was wondering if the lack of sleep was adding to my nerves.

"No, you're not," Edward agreed. "You are far from her. But I want to know why you won't just leave for that weekend."

"Because there's no reason to." I said, trying to force myself to calm down.

"You're the most important reason to." Edward countered swiftly.

"That's a lie," I snorted.

"It most certainly is not." Edward looked appalled that I would think that, let alone say it. "Edythe, do you not get enough affection to know when someone loves you?" The look on my face must have said it all. "You mean so much to us, Edy, we would and will do anything to keep you safe. It's crucial that you understand this. We all love you, Edy."

Tear sprung to my eyes. Was he right? Did I not know love enough to realize that the family around me loves me? I shook my head and layed back down next to him, not saying anything. Edward rubbed my back, promising that we'd talk more tomorrow. I nodded and thought about every option Edward proposed.

I already knew what I'd go with, but it helped me to fall asleep; to think.

A/N: Guys, it's crucial that I get your input on Edythe and Edward being in a romantic relationship.  Not now, f course, but in the future of this book, it might happen and as of right now; it's on the agenda unless I get some feedback:)!  Form the results I have from Quotev, it sounds like more people want Edythe and Edward to be in a romantic relationship later in the story.

Also, I was thinking bout having Esme and Edythe be related somehow, maybe be distant-relatives?  Let me now!
