The next morning, I got up late. It was much later than when my dad gets up to go to work. I groaned, my mouth was sore from the braces (I knew I shouldn't have ate that peanut butter cookie last night) and I was sure my mouth wasn't supposed to hurt for so long. Oh well, I guess it's something I'll have to live with. I glanced at the clock, it read 12:03pm. Dang, I slept for fourteen hours?

I shrugged to myself, climbing out of bed as I yanked out knots in my hair. I sluggishly moved to my bathroom, getting ready for the day. After showering, I put on long- but fitted- jeans that flared at the bottom, a form-fitted graphic t-shirt and my mom's NYU crew-neck sweatshirt. I finished with fuzzy Christmas socks before I went downstairs for brunch.

Bruch was a simple bowl of oatmeal with a pear. As I ate, I started wondering why I had gotten ready; I wasn't doing anything today. The problem was, I was too lazy to go and change back into pajamas. I yawned, doing the dishes and wondering around the hours looking for something to clean. Unfortunately, I already cleaned everything yesterday.

I walked back upstairs, and sat at my desk; maybe I could write a song? I was about to pick up my pen when I noticed that Dad left me an envelope. Is had six $20's in it; thank you Dad for leaving me cash! I whooped, grabbing my purse.

Now, you might wonder why my dad left me so much money. Dad's side of the family is extremely wealthy and Dad inherited my grandparents' money when they passed from cancer (they were both very heavy smokers) when he and Mom married. Dad likes to use their money for 'fun'; he liked to think that they bought it for us, all of the unnecessary things in life, like grandparents should. I don't usually go shopping, just days like this; every few months when I have absolutely nothing to do.

I decided that I really did need a dress for the charity ball on Monday so I pulled together all the money I saved up for the past six months ($1200) and grabbed my skateboard to go to the plaza which is just a half a mile away.
