"The Olympic Range and just up and down the Coast Ranges." Esme said easily. She turned to Alice and Edward, "You wouldn't mind taking Edythe back home, would you? You all have class tomorrow."
Edward and Alice nodded casually and Edward slipped his arm around my shoulders in the most brotherly way possible. We made our way to Emmett's Jeep but then a new voice said "She's human."
Edward and Alice stopped and we all turned to James.
Carlisle nodded, taking two steps toward us. "Yes, Edward and Edythe are biological siblings. They're the newest additions to our family. Edythe's decided to wait a few years before Turning." The threat was, once again, clear in his undertone.
James nodded, his arm wrapping around Victoria and Edward relaxed slightly, leading us away once more. Their conversation continued and I strained to hear all of it as we walked to the Jeep.
"That went well," Edward muttered, shooting me a half smile. Alice nodded in agreement, halfway to a laugh before she froze.
And then Edward stepped on the breaks as Alice yelled a warning.
I loosed a quick scream as the Jeep jerked and I saw why; a black wolf growled in front of the Jeep, bigger than a horse. Edward froze in his place, one arm in front of me. Alice was petrified. Carlisle was suddenly in between the Jeep and the wolf.
"They're leaving." Carlisle said, his hands spread out in front of them. "Forks is neutral ground. We haven't broke the Treaty."
Sam Uley growled towards the nomads, who were seconds away from scattering. Carlisle called out to them, "If you're heading north - seek out the Denali coven. They would always be willing to play."
The scarlet eyed vampires left in a blur without so much as a glance to Carlisle.
"We haven't broken the Treaty." Carlisle said harshly. With a pointed look to Sam, he finished, "We haven't and we don't plan on it. We hope you have the same intentions."
The black wolf snarled once more before leaving, it's dark eyes flickering once to me before it left to follow the nomads.
