Harry's POV
I walked into her room and she could barely hold herself up, "hey sweetheart, how you feeling?" I asked as I sat on her bed
"Not great" she replied
"Well I got your results, you have viral meningitis" I said gently but she began to cry anyway "hey no need to be upset, I know it's scary but I'm going to make you better like I said! All you need is some medication in your IV, one of the nurses is going to bring it in shortly, you'll have one lot now, and one tomorrow morning then you'll stay here for a few days because it can cause your immune system to weaken, but only for a few days. You should be all better then!"
"Thanks haz" she replied and hugged me
"I finish soon but I'm going to sleep in the on call room tonight cause I'm here tomorrow anyway so one of the nurses will page me if you need me, you'll feel a bit crap but try and sleep and I'll see you soon okay?" She nodded and o left to get my last patient of the shift. Turns out this patient isn't all that friendly and I am now waiting for someone to stick my lip because he punched me in the face.
10 minutes later George turned up with a suture kit, " you got the big angry guy?" He asked and I nodded "hard luck" he laughed "lay back then and I'll get started" he said and numbed lip "how's Rachel?"
"She's sleeping now so hopefully she'll be okay soon, it was meningitis after" I said
"Poor girl, she's so scared, what made her like that?" He asked and I shook my head "I don't really know, I wasn't really there at her appointments bit my mother wasn't all that great so she probably forced her to do something and now she's petrified, even of me" I said
"Right lay back and I'll stitch you, that's crazy mind, considering her age most kids grow out of it so it must be something bad, can she remember?" He asked and I shook my head slightly "poor girl, must be awful" he said and finished my stitches "all done, you done for the night now?"
"Yeah but I'm just going to the on call room for a bit cause I'm back on at 12 so I'll be here for Rachel earlier this way"
"Okay mate, I'll keep an eye on her and I'll see you later." I thanked him and headed to the on call room
Rachel's POV
I opened my eyes and tried to move only to find that a couldn't, I looked around and saw I was strapped to a bed and there was a bright light above me. I could hear people talking but couldn't hear what they were saying then all of a sudden a man with black hair and black eyes turned to me, he had gloves and a mask on with a scalpel in his hand "she's finally awake, now the fun can begin" he laughed in a way that makes you shudder "good luck" he laughed and brought his scalpel closer and closer to my face
I shot up in bed my heart racing and the monitors were beeping like mad. The doors flung open and in ran George "your okay darling, breathe for me, tell me what's wrong" he said calmly holding my hand gently
"He had a knife, he was going to hurt me, I want to go home don't let them hurt me" I cried in a panic
"Look at me, I promise no one is going to hurt you okay? It was only a dream. It wasn't real" he said holding me in his arms until I calmed down.
"Thank you" I said as he stood up
"No problem, can I just take your temperature?" He asked and I nodded "38.8, it's getting better, how you feeling now?" He asked and I was confused as to why he was here "I've taken over for Harry that's all, no need to worry" he laughed at my confusion and I nodded "I feel a little better but I just feel drained now, like my body is heavy" I said
"That's okay, your supposed to feel like that, you try and get some more rest and I'll be back soon" he said and headed for the door
"Wait! Please don't go I'm scared" I said and he came back, got on the bed and held me "I've got you, your safe there's nothing to worry about" he said and I smiled and closed my eyes.
I could start to like this guy, even if he is a doctor.Sorry I know it's short but I'll update again soon.
