My New Doctor

Chapter 24

Harry's POV

When Rachel came down the stairs she looks drained, not even just physically drained but mentally and I then realised how hard this must be on her, she's been having a really rough time recently and I just want to help her get better. She's not herself anymore and I need to make her come out of her shell again.

"Want a cuppa?" I asked her to which she nodded and so I headed for the kitchen leaving her and Zayn to have a chat.

Zayn's POV

She hadn't even looked at me since she came down the stairs in a very awkward way, I thought I'd try and get her to talk anyway
"How you feeling love?" I said politely
"A bit crap but not too bad thanks, and yourself?" I could tell she was trying not to be rude but she didn't want to talk to me
"I'm good thanks, how you coping though since the last time I saw you?"
"I've been better than I was, until yesterday that is" she said with a light laugh
"Understandable, want to talk about anything?" I replied softly
"I did want to ask you something actually"
"Go ahead" I said turning to her and smiling
"How long do you think it'll be before I'm, me again" she said stumbling over the right words to say
"it could take a while for you to feel completely normal again but that's understandable considering what's happened but little by little you find your confidence building and you'll start doing the things you used to and you'll be more relaxed around people" I explained calmly
"Okay! But I am relaxed around people?" The last part came out as more of a question as she sat with a confused look on her face
"You may feel as though your relaxed but your not, your arms are crossed and your hands are balled into fists and your sat with your back straight and this is an indication that your body is tense"
"I don't mean to be though"
"It's not down to you! You see the body deals with this type if thing differently to the mind and so your mind may feel relaxed but your body knows there's still a lot of tension and built up emotion there and it shows in your body language"
"Oh, but it'll go away soon?"
"Yeah it'll go away eventually and talking really does help and so like I've said before you can come and talk to me whenever you want! You can come to the hospital or just ask Harry to let me know and I could come over if it's better for you, there's no shame in talking to me and I'm not going to judge you at all, trust me I've seen worse!" I said smiling at her
"I wouldn't want to come to the hospital but I wouldn't mind it being here. Strangely enough I do trust you but I don't know why. Are you sure your a doctor?" She laughed
"I guess we could arrange something then, yeah I'm pretty sure and if I wasn't I'd be in a lot if trouble by know" I laughed "but it's good that you trust me"

Rachel's POV

"But it's good that you trust me" Zayn said sweetly. Just then Harry walked in with the mugs of tea and toast for me, they had already eaten see.
"Everything okay?" Harry asked looking between me and Zayn
"Everything fine haz" I said smiling at Zayn. I ate my toast and drunk my tea before making Harry carry me upstairs to get dressed as we were heading out to go see the new transformers film in cinema, and surprisingly I was excited and couldn't wait to get out if the house.
Getting dressed was hard work as I couldn't get any skinny jeans over my cast and so as it was summer I decided to put on a cute summer dress and a sandal, yes only one as I couldn't exactly fit the other one on.
"Come on rach we are going to be late other wise!" Harry shouted up the stairs
"Come and get me then" I shouted back hopping to the top of the stairs on my crutches, I didn't want to have to go down on my bum again. Harry didn't mind though as he claimed the stairs and picked me up and carried me down setting me back on my feet at the bottom.
"Let's go then" I said smiling

The film was great and the ice cream was even better. As Harry and I walked towards the exit I walked into someone "sorry love" he said looking at me and I froze, that was him, that's the man!!
