Chapter 20

Harry's POV

Zayn came down not long after Ella had left for x-Ray and so I had to explain to him what was going on

"Hey mate"
"Alright butt, thanks for coming down"
"No problem, what's going on? Is it your sister?"
"No Rachel's okay I guess, but can you come over tomorrow?"
"Yeah okay, so what is the problem"
"I've got Ella James here and I think she's having trouble dealing with her diabetes"
"Okay so where is she?"
"In x-Ray I think she's broken her arm"
"Oh bless she's not having a lot of luck lately is she!"

Just then there was a knock at the door and so Zayn opened it "hi Ella" he said letting her in and telling her to take a seat and he moved the one from next to her and put it closer to me so he was facing her.
"So Ella I just want to have a chat with you, is that okay with you?" She nodded "okay so I want you to tell me how well you're coping with your diabetes"
"I'm not"
"Okay, that's understandable because it's a lot to take in especially at your age it's hard to adapt to a new way of life but it's okay to ask for help, what are you finding the hardest?"
"It's taking over my life, I just don't feel like me anymore and it's really hard to deal with and I don't have anyone to talk with because no one understands it and I can't deal with it I can't if rather just go without insulin and face the consequence"
"I understand why you feel like that but there's a really good support group you can go to with other people who have it, I think it could be a really good chance for you to let out your feeling about it"
"Okay, I could try that" Ella was on the verge of tears but she was trying and I admire her for that
"Great"
"Ella I have your x-ray results love and I'm afraid it is broken" I said softly trying not to upset her anymore "I'll just put a cast on for you now love" I got up to grab everything I needed and walked back to my room, "can you jump on the table for me love?"

She came over and sat on the table and put the cast on as gentle as I could but it still caused her slight pain and so I prescribed some pain killers aswell as applying a cast. She was ready to leave but Zayn grabbed her on the way out and said "if you want you can come and see me at anytime just give the hospital a ring and arrange an appointment and we can have a chat yeah?"
"Okay, thank you" she said as she left

I have an early finish today and so I can go home already, I can tell Rachel the good news now.

Rachel's POV

So I've spent my day home alone as my mother is working all day again and so is Harry and I can't leave the house in fear of everything and so I spent my day catching up on two weeks worth if hollyoakes. I had two left and I just I started one when Harry walked in with a shopping bag containing what looked like a load of junk food and I was very grateful as I was starving but too lazy to cook, that and the fact that I'm freezing and then boiling and I couldn't find enough energy to get off the sofa and so I just stayed there all wrapped up in a blanket while wearing one of Harry's jumpers as well!

"Hi princess, you okay?" Harry said setting the bag in the kitchen and coming back in and kneeling down in front of me "you feeling okay babe? You don't look well?"
"I'm fine, just feeling a bit drained and cold right now" he stuck his hand on my head before informing me that I'm boiling "I'm going to grab my bag and take a took at you princess okay?"
"No Harry! I don't need it I'm fine!"
"Rach come on! Please just let me take a look at you real quick?"
"I really don't want to haz"
"I know you don't but will you do it for me please? It's only me so there's nothing to worry about! And I've got good news for you chick!"
"I don't want to! What news?"
"Please babe? Your blood results came back and your not pregnant! You are anaemic though and so I'm going to keep and eye on that but it's not too bad but will please let me check you over?" I've never been so relived in my life, I grabbed hold of Harry and squeezed him to which he just giggled and hugged me back "your okay babe, it's going to get better from now on I promise!" For some reason I felt really emotional and couldn't help but let the tears fall but Harry didn't mind as he just wiped them off said "it's okay to let it out babe, better than holding it all in!" Whilst smiling at me "but I'm going to check on you now okay"
"No Harry please don't make me do this! Not again I can't"
"Yes you can princess, you've got nothing to worry about! We are in our house and I'm your brother! There's nothing to be scared of" I took a deep breath realising he was probably right and so I nodded to him signalling it was okay. He smiled and got up to grab his bag but I had a strange feeling in my stomach and I was not looking forward to this.
"Okay babe you ready?" He said returning with his bag in his hand.
"Yeah" I replied. He knelt back in front of me and stuck his thermometer in my ear and told me I had a fever. He checked my ears nose and eyes before telling me to open up but I was scared there'd be something wring cause my throat was really sore and so I shook my head at him. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"Rach" he said in a voice which I usually took as a warning and I didn't fancy having Harry lose his temper at me and so I told him "I have a really sore throat" he just rolled his eyes at me and told me to open up again and this time after a little hesitation I did as he asked and opened my mouth a bit, "a little wider babe?" I again did as he asked but then he grabbed a light and one of them lolly pop sticks and stuck it on my tongue "say ahh"
"Ahhhhh"
"Okay babe you've got tonsillitis but it's not too bad and so it'll go without needing treatment" I sighed and he just laughed at my childishness.
He grabbed his stethoscope and stuck it under my top after he took my blanket off me causing me to shiver a bit "nice hoodie babe" he said laughing "I know it's nice right?" I grinned at him.
"Deep breaths for me?" Once again I just did as I asked not wanting to cause any drama and soon enough he was done but wanted to check my blood pressure. He put the thing around my arm and told me to relax but to be honest I didn't have enough energy to not be relaxed and so he seemed happy that I just let him get on with it and I realised how much he really does care for me and i was finally appreciating it.

Harry's POV

I was done checking Rachel out and it turned out she just had a common cold really so it's nothing to worry her about and so I went to the kitchen and grabbed all the munchies id bought for us and I sat by Rachel on the sofa giving her a hug and opening a bag of crisps before pressing play on hollyoakes.
"Thank you" I faintly heard Rachel say and I didn't reply but I still couldn't help but smile at how amazing my little sister was.
"Zayn's going to come over tomorrow babe, you going to try and have a chat with him? Let him help you?"
"Yeah okay" was her only reply but I guess that would have to do.
