Chapter 22

Harry's POV

"So how did this happen?" Louis asked Rachel but she didn't answer and so he turned to me

"She stood up and twisted it awkwardly"

"Okay, Rachel can you tell me where the pain is?" She just looked at me with tears running down her face shaking her head, I grabbed her hand and pointed out to Louis where she had told me it was painful earlier.

Louis put some gloves on and stood at the foot of the bed just looking at her ankle, "can I take your other shoe off for a moment please?" He asked and she nodded lightly. He then compared both ankles and the swelling was evident now, it's has almost doubled in size and was beginning to bruise. "I'm going to gently press on your ankle okay?" Louis said smiling to Rachel but she shook her head "no Harry please don't let him" she croaked out tears steaming down her face and into her top "please it really hurts can we just go home?" She pleaded

"Look at me rach, look at me!" I said to which she did "deep breaths and listen to me okay?" She nodded " I know it's painful and so does Louis and that's why he's going to be very gentle, he needs to do this to find out if you have any serious injuries but you have to calm down, just keep breathing nice and steadily in and out and you'll be okay I promise, I'm right here" I said looking into her glassy eyes. She nodded at me and I nodded to Louis letting him know it's okay to start, "don't be afraid to tell me if it's painful okay!" He told her softly. Let's just say she wasn't afraid of telling him that, she yelped and winced as he felt her ankle for a few minutes. "I don't think it's broken or fractured but I'm concerned that it could be ligament damage" and Rachel panicked and started crying again but she calmed down in a matter of minutes, "I want to do an x-Ray to rule out any breaks but I want to do a MRI scan to test for ligament damage" he must have noticed Rachel's distress levels rising as she completely freaked out "Rachel my love, I know this is scary for you but it's going to be okay, we have a lot of treatments that can help either outcome so your going to be okay no matter what yeah?" Surprisingly she did calm down a bit and I was able to carry her to the x-Ray department and she was fine in there but the look of the MRI scanner really frightened her and so I set her down on the bed and she just remained sitting up and so I gently pushed her shoulders down to get her to lay down and I held her hand and explained to her how it would work and that I'd be right here, the scanner started just after I put my safety vest on and Rachel immediately freaked out, "Harry get me out!"

"It's okay princess, just a few minutes is all it will take just calm down"

"No get me out I don't like it" she cried out

"Calm down babe your going to be okay" her breathing became uneven and shallow and I knew she was minutes away from a panic attack "deep breaths babe, come on you can do it! In, and back out" I tried to calm her "just stay nice and calm for a few more minutes, try not to move for me babe, your doing really well and your almost done I promise"

"How long left?" she asked slightly calmer

"Few seconds babe, you can do it I promise" and seconds later it was done and Rachel was sat up hugging me.

Louis came in with a wheelchair so u didn't have to carry her and so I helped her in and wheeled her back to the room we first went to. "Is this normal behaviour for her?" Louis whispered to me to which I just nodded.

"Rachel, your results will take some time to come through and so what I want I want to do is a quick check up, would that be okay?" Louis asked her and she completely ignored him and so I pulled him to the side to talk to him.

Louis POV

Harry pulled me away from Rachel and said "she came to my office a few days ago and the only problem I found was that she's slightly anaemic but other than that everything was okay and so I was wondering if you could do me a favour and do a quick check of her more private area as I don't feel comfortable doing it myself and I would say she is in need of one after recent events" he sounded pretty upset by it but I guess there's a reason behind it, "yeah okay mate no problem, anything else you'd like?"

"Could you just check her throat as I checked it earlier and it seems like she has really mild tonsillitis but if like to be sure"

"Okay mate I'll do that first"

We walked back over to Rachel and Harry sat next to her and explained what would happen, "right rach Louis is going to check your throat for a quick second okay?"

"Do I have to?"

"Yeah you do sorry, it'll be really quick honest" he told her

"I won't hurt you I promise" I said smiling and grabbing a light and tongue depressor before walking over to her, she looked at me and then back at Harry nervously to which he smiled and nodded to her. "Okay, open up for me please?" she opened her mouth a bit but not quite enough for me to see "a little wider for me chick?" And I was surprised when she did, I used my light and examined her throat coming to the same conclusion as Harry but I still wanted to check her glands "okay can you just tilt you head back for me" she moved her head back very slowly "I'm going to have a quick feel just let me know if it's painful" she nodded and I felt her glands finding nothing to cause any concern and so I told Harry it was as he thought before giving him the nod to say I would move on to the next part.

I grabbed a pair of gloves and shut the door tight before closing the blinds while Harry told Rachel what I was going to do.

"Rach I know your not going to want to do this but I think you should okay? After what happened to you I think you need your more private area checked and Louis said he would be willing to do it for you" Harry said carefully but it didn't stop her crying "there's nothing to be scared of, I'm going to be right here the whole time I promise, it's okay to let him take a look" she must have agreed in some way as Harry nodded to me and so I slowly walked back over and said "can you pull your trousers and underwear down for me please?" She did it very slowly and her hands were shaking a lot and so I sat on the end of the bed and smiled gently at her hoping to calm her a bit. "Bend your right knee and put your foot flat on the bed and let your knee fall to the side, don't worry about the other leg if it's too sore" I said calmly and she complied nervously "now I'm going to just have a quick check okay? Nothing to worry about, just pretend I'm not here" I began examining her and Harry spoke to her to keep her calm and I finished up pretty quickly "well done, you can put your clothes back on now love".

I pulled Harry to the side and told him "nothing major going on but there are clear signs of rape but nothing too concerning"

"Thanks mate, I'm really grateful for your help" he said and I replied by just saying "no problem" and excusing myself to get Rachel's results
