My New Doctor

Chapter 54

Harry's POV
So it's been a week since the incident at Rachel's school everyone is still pretty shaken, Rachel's refuses to say anything about it but I know she is struggling, I can't do anything until she talks to me though. I was asked to go in and see Rachel's teacher today as they have 'some concerns' so here I was sat in a room waiting for her.
"Hi, thanks for coming Mr styles" a women greeted me
"Please, call me Harry" I smiled politely
"Sorry to have to do this but Rachel hasn't been herself the last two maybe three days, I don't know if she's ill or what but she's not herself" she said sadly
"How do you mean? What's been happening?" I asked getting confused
"She looks drained and has very little colour, she goes to the toilet a lot during lessons even if she has been told to stay"
"That's what I've always told her, I'm a doctor and if you need to go you should, you shouldn't refuse your students that opportunity." I said blankly "but on the other hand I will have a word with Rachel and ensure everything is fine, I'll take her with me as well please?"
"I'm sorry but Rachel has to stay, you cannot just remove her" she snapped and I was beginning to get annoyed
"Listen carefully, I am a doctor which means I have a duty of care to patients, especially my family, you have just informed me that you are worried about my sister and her health so I shall take her out of here now and get to the bottom of this and if you were any kind of care professional you would not stand in my way" I said very annoyed by this point 
"Very well, I shall collect her right away" she replied as she stuck her nose up at me and left the room.
A few minutes later Rachel walked in looking unimpressed
"Let's go" I said and she just nodded and followed me as I stormed out. We got on the car and I headed for the hospital.
"Haz what's going on?" She asked
"Your teachers are concerned, why do you keep leaving class to go to the bathroom? And don't tell me your going to pee" I said a bit abrupt
"Does it matter? Why do they care anyway?" She said
"Rach what's going on? Don't you lie to me because if your ill I'm going to find out soon enough anyway"
"It's not me so just take me home" she shouted
"Rachel styles you better answer my question right now" I shouted at the end of my tether
"It's grace, she's ill and her parents don't really care and she doesn't want to see a doctor" she cries as I switch the engine off. I pull her into a hug and wait for her to calm down
"Why didn't you tell me? You know I can help" I said as we headed to my office
"I don't know haz I was scared that's all, she's really not well"
"Okay princess I will help her I promise, why don't you ask her over for tea tonight and I'll see what I can do, but you have to tell me what's going on" I said as we sat down in my office and I got some stuff ready to check Rachel out
"She coughs up blood all the time and she just faints and I-I can't lose her haz she's my best friend"
"Okay listen to me rach, I am going to help her, I give you my word but your making yourself ill with all this stress, you've not been out of hospital long and I don't want you to be back in, do you understand?" I said gently and she nodded. "Now I'm going to check you over make sure your alright and then we can go home and you can invite grace over, okay?" She just nodded so I did a general exam and I could clearly tell she's under a lot of stress but there was something else wrong with her, I think she needs to see someone to help her with the last few months so I'll book her an appointment with zayn and I'll explain to her a bit closer to the day. With that we decided to head home, I invited Sophie over for dinner as well as a kind of safety net, don't get me wrong I would have invited her anyway but this is just a bonus.

I was playing up food with Sophie when Rachel and grace walked through the door and I must admit she looks awful.
We all sat and ate quietly but I could see Rachel sending me eyes from across the table "so girls, how's school?" I asked and Rachel rolled her eyes before replying "it's okay actually" but grace didn't speak
"You okay there grace, your awfully quiet" I said and she nodded gently.
A little while later we had all finished dinner and Rachel and Sophie decided to clear the table leaving me with grace, I was trying to make small talk with her but I barely got an answer, then she started coughing really badly so I got up and got my bag before returning but she wouldn't let me touch her, Sophie and Rachel came back and she was coughing blood by now so Sophie went to get tissues, when she returned she helped her clear herself up and moved her to the sofa.
"Grace sweetheart I know this is scary for you and you feel all alone but we can help you" Sophie said gently nd grace just cried before turning to Rachel and shooting "I told you I shouldn't have come, I knew he would find out!! Everything is just falling apart" she cried and Rachel gave her a hug even though she didn't want one at first "I'm sorry" she sobbed "I didn't mean it I'm just scared"
"I know but Harry and Sophie can help you I promise, please just let them help!" Rachel replied sounding desperate and grace nodded so I grabbed my stethoscope and put it in my ears "I'm just going to listen to your chest" I said as I approached her slowly and she backed away
"You scared of Harry sweetheart?" Sophie asked and she nodded "there's no need, he's not going to hurt you I promise, shall I show you?" She asked and grace nodded so I turned to Sophie instead and listened to her chest, her heart was beating like mad and I couldn't help but love her even more for this, her eyes were staring straight into mine and I knew she was my one and only. "Deep breaths soph" I smiled and had a peek towards grace who was watching my every move, Sophie did as I said and I listen to the front and back before pulling away
"See that's it babe" she smiled to grace who simply nodded. I put my stethoscope on her chest and her breath hitched in her throat at my touch. I put my hand on her shoulder gently and said "just relax, your okay honestly" and she grabbed Rachel's hand and closed her eyes. Her heart rate was sky high but I could have guessed that "deep breaths for me, just like Sophie did" I said and she complied.

So it's a slight cliff hanger but I'll update soon I hope
