Chapter 33

Harry's POV

I could tell she was beyond nervous but I'm not surprised after leaving it build up for so long. I understand when people are scared they don't want to be here but the more they come the easier it gets for them.

"And why do you think that? What's in your way?" I asked calmly

She hesitated slightly before saying "I just can't face you people? Your too scary"

"Alright love just try and calm yourself down for me yeah? Why do you think I'm scary?" She nodded her head and took a few shaky breaths before speaking "not so much you but just doctors is general, I don't like the idea of being examined at all, quite frankly I find it terrifying and extremely nerve wracking" she said really fast while looking down at the floor and sobbing.

"Don't think about them, think about me, right now am I scaring you?"

"Not so much your but what your going to do to me" she replied quietly

"Who says I'm going to do anything? I'm just talking right now yeah? And even when I start your exam I won't be doing much, this exam can take me 10 minutes but you just need to calm down for me" I smiled and held her hand gently to help calm her nerves. "Deep breaths in and out, you can do this okay?" She nodded at me "is it okay to start?" She closed her eyes and took a big breath before mumbling a small 'yeah'.

I took her temperature first then checked her ears, nose and throat before moving onto her eyes, "I just need you to look straight a head for me, it'll be a bit bright but I'll be quick" I said grabbing my ophthalmoscope and checking her pupil reactions and red reflex. I then took a listen to her heart and lungs before finally taking her blood pressure "keep your arm nice and relaxed and still for me, it'll get tight but try to stay calm yeah?".

After completing the exam and explaining that everything seemed okay I said "I'm not going to push this on you but if you feel up to it you should book an appointment for a quick blood test, just to be safe but it's completely up to you, if you want to you can make an appointment now or just give us a call when your ready"

"Thank you" she said shaking my hand "I really appreciate what you've done for me"

"No problem, see you soon love" and with that she was gone and so I shouted out for Rachel to come in.

Rachel's POV

I was sitting in the waiting room a lot more relaxed than earlier, looking after Lilly I think it was? Well she was playing and then her mother came out and got her "thank you rachel" Lilly shouted as they walked off and I smiled to myself. Harry then shouted for me to go to his office, I felt so weak I could only just get up but I went in and sat down hoping that he would be ready really soon. I tried to regain some strength but I just couldn't, I felt shitty if I'm honest but I didn't want to tell harry but as always Dr know it all figured that out with no problems.

Harry's POV

Rachel came in and sat down and she looked even worse than earlier, I was thinking what it could be when it hit me, her iron levels have dropped again.

"Rach let me take a look at your eyes for a second please princess?" She nodded and so I went and checked them but I wanted to do a blood test to be sure, "do you feel really weak and tired?" She nodded again "can I take a little blood test please babe?"

"No please don't!!!" She said lightly trying to hide the fear but it was clear in her eyes.

"It's okay babe I know you don't want to but I really need to check your iron levels, you look really anaemic"

"I don't want to though"

"I know but can you do it for me chick? Just a little one I'll just take one little tube look" I said holding up a tube to show her.

"Can we go home then?" She whispered

"I'm not going to lie and say yes because if your iron levels are that low I'm going to give you an iron boost but we won't be too long her I promise"

"Okay" she mumbled and so I collected everything ready and put in some gloves, she let me clean her arm and everything but when I took the cap off the needle she tended up and started to panic "no no, come on babe your doing so well, remember what Zayn said, it'll only hurt if you make it yeah? Relax your arm back down for me" which she did "close your eyes and take nice deep breaths for me" she did this for a few seconds before I continued "ready?" She nodded "sharp scratch princess" I inserted the needle and her breathing got heavier but she managed to keep it controlled while I filled the tube up, I finished quickly and took the needle out "all done babe, you did really well I'm so proud of you!" I smiled and she slumped back in her seat again.

I went down to the lab with the sample myself to ensure I had the results now and as I expected her iron levels were less than half of what they should be and so before going to my office I prepared an iron boost and then went back in to tell her, "sorry chick but it's way to low and I have to give you this shot! It'll take me seconds if you stay calm" I said already cleaning the area and she nodded "you won't even have time to think about it, sharp scratch" I said and inserted the needle and took it back out literally seconds later and she just pulled a pouty face at me and said "oh that was painful haz"

"I know they ain't nice babe but it's done now but your going to come back with me tomorrow to check them again okay?" She nodded and I hugged her before grabbing my stuff and leaving the office with Rachel.

Rachel's POV

By the time we got home I was really hungry and so harry ordered some Chinese food in and we watched about 7 episodes of eastenders from the week and then I drifted off to sleep only to be woken up when harry picked me up and carried me to bed, he laid me under the covers and said "get a good sleep babe we have a long day tomorrow, I'll explain in the morning but right now my princess needs her sleep, goodnight sweetheart, love you" he whispered kissing my forehead

"Goodnight Haz, love you too" I replied as he left me room and I fell back into a peaceful slumber.
